Super clean, spacious room, comfortable beds and if it hadn’t been raining it would’ve been super easy to walk to the shops and restaurants! Looking forward to our next stay!

Unfortunately, our stay at the Village Inn in Blowing Rock, North Carolina, was extremely disappointing. From the moment we walked toward our room, we were concerned about the cleanliness and overall condition of the property. The doormats to all the rooms we passed were filthy – trash and hair covered, as though they had not been swept for days or weeks. The wood-slated screen doors were stained and mold covered. When we opened the door to the first room given, we were immediately overwhelmed by a strong musty and urine-smelling odor. Inside, there were visible dust bunnies on the floor and dust on the furniture and drapes. The furniture also had large stains. The bathroom was extremely small and smelly, with virtually no place to put our personal belongings. The bathroom drapery had a thick layer of dust on it. The bathroom floor and shower floor were unclean and the tiles laced with mold and mildew. Because we were so uncomfortable with the condition of the property and room, we immediately contacted the hotel clerk and let her know that the room was unacceptable and that we did not want to stay there. However, after consulting the hotel manager, the desk clerk told us that we could not receive a refund for the full three nights of our trip. We stayed one night and checked out before 11 o’clock the next morning. This was so disappointing that we ended our trip to Blowing Rock and went home.

One issue. Floor needed cleaning.

Room was rustic in appearance, quaint and very clean. Overall bed was comfy but a little saggy in the middle. Bath was very clean and included H20 amenities and lots of fluffy towels. Nice hot shower. Great black out drapes. Enjoyed having the Keurig coffee maker in the room. Thoroughly enjoyed the private deck and chairs facing the forested area. We had a beautiful cloudless night and got to see so many stars. About 15-20 min walk to main street. Very convenient. We had seen some negative reviews on other sites but our experience was great.

I liked the vintage feel of the place, wood floors, decks, comfortable wood furniture. I also liked that we could walk to downtown and the park around the lake. Also the stream and green space in the back. A screen door on the sliding glass deck door would be an improvement. Noise from the highway.

Nice for a night or two

Property was closer to the road and other buildings than expected although it is nice enough inside. The bathroom was large and lovely in the suite. However, the amenities and staff were sub par, especially given thepl premium price tag. The wi Fi didn’t work, the staff interrupted to check it but never actually fixed it, the plumbing stopped up and when you try to access staff, you just find a note on the lobby door that says be back soon. The phone in the room didn’t work and was reported but never fixed. So without wi Fi or cell service and with no phone in the room working, you’d have to leave to go to the office only to find it empty. When I checked out, there was no staff to even tell the issues to. I’d give it 5/10 and wouldn’t stay again.

The staff was exceptional. Room was clean. Loved watching the fish in the pond. Easy walk to town.

It was lovely just as they had told us. It was extremely convenient and quiet and the creek sound in the back was fantastic.
-
Screen door to deck broken lock. A/C blows straight down onto bed in the small room. Typically no one available at reception but manager shows up quickly when called on the phone.
-
Great location & friendly staff. I wish they had chairs on the front porch. They did have seating around the lake out front.

Certain areas were dirty or needed a little maintenance: finding hairs on washcloths and in bedsheets and in tub. Dirty residue started pooling up in the tub. Toilet would run for about 20 minutes and was not filling up with water very quickly. The door locks would stick and be hard to open.
-
Clean, nice front desk staff and location. Tired and appears the owner or management is waiting for a “deal”.
-
Charming little place! clean and convenient for walking. We had a few ants in the bathroom (nothing alarming due to drought in the area.

Location and staff

The room was very clean and our check in lady was so very sweet and pleasant . We would stay there again
-
No complimentary breakfast despite that price and walls were thin between other visitors in other room

We enjoyed our mountain escape to the Village Inn. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We liked the easy access to walk downtown. We definitely plan to stay here again with our fur baby.

The room was shabby, run down looking. The tub was scraped up. The deck hadn't been cleaned. It was filled with spider webs.

Location works for us. Price was good. Deck was nice. Surroundings were pretty. The musty smell in the room was a let down.
