This is in a nice spot on Highland Lake with a large lawn leading down to the lake shore. The place is a little run down, but it was comfortable and pleasant.

Room was ok, but air conditioner was broken, and TV only had 10 channels.

Clean room, very accommodating staff. A good experience. Too expensive for such old, unrenovated accommodations.

This property was absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed time on the swing down by the lake and just having a cup of coffee on the back porch of our room overlooking the grounds and the water. The room was spacious and the bed was comfy-we would absolutely stay here again.

What a beautiful place. We stayed for a 1 night getaway but wish we had stayed longer. The scenery was so beautiful. The front desk lady was so sweet. You walk down towards the Lake and the view is breathtaking. We were able to sit in a swing and just enjoy sitting and even cooking by the lake. They had plenty of grills around the facility. They have fire pits in different locations. They have areas were you could sit as a couple with your own fire pit. The landscaping was well kept. They have plenty of things for kids to do from an activity center outside to a game room. We will come again with grandson next time. The beach area so clean. Docks for boats or just sitting. The only complaint i have is we didn't get the room described. We ordered 2 queen beds with lake view. We actually didn't stay in room until later in day because it was so much better being outside among the grounds so a little late to complain. We only got partial lake view and 2 double beds. We should have been more observant when we first entered and noticed the beds. We thought this isn't quite a lake view but we didn't complain. We did notice that evening that there seemed to be lake view rooms on the other side of us that were empty. So we should have been able to be in a different room. I guess we just enjoyed the resort itself and it was only 1 night so we just let it go. I don't know if it was resort or Expedia communication that made the error. Definitely Recommend!

HIghland Lake Resort is a very comfortable, family-oriented place with motel-style units on two sides of the property and what looked like larger units and a function room adjoining an old New Englander house. There is a large central recreational area with a fire pit and seating. A short walk to the lake will bring you to wooden swings and other assorted seating. It's like camp! The rooms were basic - everything you need and nothing you don't. Beds were in good condition and comfy. Very small, older bathrooms, but adequate. There is a small cafe on the property for breakfast and ice cream. The staff was friendly and pleasant. There is holistic/spiritual vibe about the property - something you don't find too often in similar accommodations. Low key R&R kind of place.

The staff was very accommodating. They met all our requests, such as paper plates, and coffee creamer. It was very nice having coffee pods supplied for the Kurig.

I was charmed by the upbeat little messages everywhere, there were happy paintings on the fence in the yard, even our wifi password was something like 'joyful'. The woman who checked us in was lovely and helpful. They offer kayaks and PFD's, bikes and helmets, a workout room with good equipment, a pool table, ping pong, a sauna, yard games, and much more. Plus a big beautiful lake.

When we rented our room, I didn’t tell you there was a north and south so the place we stayed. None of the amenities were close. We weren’t on the water. We were up on the main road with no amenities. We had to walk over to the south side .. we went to the front desk and asked if we could be put on the other side. We were told no without even looking, and there were barely any cars on the southside. It was not sold out. I would not recommend this to anybody with because the staff was not helpful.

Very sweet, family oriented. Nice new chairs and fire pit areas. Nice wooden swings for 2 by the lake, many kayaks, canoes. Fruendly staff, tiny bathroom, but cute and clean. Coffee and refrigerator.

This was such a great place to stay! Clean and comfy. Not fancy, but well maintained and very affordable! Great location. Close to town and great restaurants. The grounds are nice and kayaks and paddle boards are in good shape. Everyone that worked there was super friendly too. Would absolutely recommend.
