A hiden hotel but very clean. Great staff and good amenities

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Brownsville, and unfortunately, it fell far short of expectations. The property is quite old and visibly run-down. The carpet in the room was dirty and had a terrible odor right when I walked in. To make matters worse, the air conditioning was completely out of order. While the front desk staff was friendly and quick to move me to another room, a basic system like AC should be checked and working before guests check in. The only mild positives were the polite, accommodating staff and the breakfast, which was decent/okay. Beyond that, the lack of cleanliness and poor room maintenance made for a very uncomfortable stay. I would not recommend staying here until the property undergoes serious updates and better housekeeping.

Room smelled like mold. It was so humid inside the room.

My family and I could not shower. We did not have water pressure in our shower. The receptionist advice was to find another hotel. You had to be kidding me. Never again. She said she left a note to the manager but no one ever contacted us. Thank God we only stayed one night. Never again.

Mold everywhere, rusty lamps

This was my worst experience at a hotel. It was supposed to be a suite, but it was nothing like one. There was even something that looked like a grave or tomb—I don’t even know what it was. Horrible!

Very clean room, staff was very good. Comfy beds, which I’m glad because I really needed to rest. The breakfast was ok and good coffee also. I would only gave a 4 star because the entry smell is strong- fumigated smell.

I found a dirty clothes behind a chair. I didn't touch. I forgot to tell them.

It’s a beautiful property and right along a river! And the ducks from the river came visiting!! Absolutely nothing- it was perfect

The service provided was excellent; however, I was disappointed that both the pool and elevator were unavailable due to maintenance. The primary reason I chose this hotel was to enjoy the pool, so its closure significantly impacted my stay. While I was fortunate to be able to access my room on the third floor using the stairs, the lack of elevator service was still an inconvenience. I would have appreciated being informed of these maintenance issues prior to my arrival, as they may have influenced my booking decision.

Its a good place to rest almost has everything at a short walk distance including the mall

Location Needs updating, rust on tub

The hotel room was stained and gross. I had to switch rooms because the humidity was so bad and there appeared to be mold growing on the AC unit. Not a pleasant stay.
