Carmel Wayfarer Inn

Good location. Easy check-in. Pet friendly. AC was plug in and very loud. Also, it seemed like fellow guests left their dogs in their room while they weren’t there and there was a lot of barking. While we knew it was a dog friendly hotel (and had dogs of our own) we didn’t appreciate the excessive noise.

Good location a short walk to town and nice outside seating area to relax Nice bar / restaurant next door. Shortage of on site parking however street parking was available.

Close to all the shops, dining and wine bars. Also, place is dog friendly.

This property is run down and shabby. Needs to be radically updated. Paint peeling from stairway and room ceiling. Decor awful. Plaster bubbled and cracked in bathroom. Grout in bathroom needs to be replaced. Needs to be sound proofed. Sheers on window discoloured and old.

Very clean

It was fine. Very basic but acceptable for one night. The price did not match the quality of the property. You are paying to stay in Carmel but a room in this hotel would have cost $80 in any other town. Also, the door to the room did not lock. When my husband told the receptionist, she shrugged. Be careful because it appears to lock but then it jolts open.

The proximity to shopping and dinning. A comfortable stay at a very reasonable price. Front office staff were welcoming and cordial. Loved our view of the ocean and watching the sunset from our window. Could use more parking but this is a concern with many places in Carmel. The city really needs to address this issue.
