Love the location. But they can use some updates or at least repaint.

Wonderful views of Lake Michigan and great bar!
-
Great front desk staff. Hotel feels a little dated. Our room smelled musty. Front desk offered to move us. Good access to lake shore drive

Old school charm in this beautiful hotel. Comfortable bed and clean. We a lovely dinner and really great drinks in the restaurant. Really nice walkable location.

I felt so taken care of that I didn’t want to leave! The staff and hotel made me feel so special and safe at all times. I brought my dog with me and was treated so nicely by everyone. 10/10 and I can’t wait to come back!

It was a great experience

She is a tired old lady. The amenities that make a stay more comfortable or even a little more fun are completely missing. Had to ask for a robe. Nothing uplifting about the room. Dated dark brown furniture, a tear in the carpet, I went to my room to sleep but didn’t enjoy being there.

From door to door thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Could not get cash from front desk when the atm was down.

Old and outdated inside

Classic old Hotel in Chicago that is being upgraded

It is a beautiful historic building in a great location. The rooms are spacious and elegant, however they smell old: mildewing slightly. Also the restaurants in the building are not good except for Lavazza. The in-room dining is not tasty and they forgot some of my items. In the lobby, if you hang out too long they will come pressure you to sign up for deals. Overall, a bit disappointing for such a lovely historic building especially at the prices they charge.

The location was THE BEST!! The view was TO DIE FOR (lake view room). AIhigher floor stay might help avoid the noise of the heavy traffic The restaurant and bar was a little different (not what I had in mind for a restaurant -it is more like a bar with tables to order food and eat. The fish and chips were great. The reuben was very good and the martini was spot on. So - it worked out. Breakfast was very good. The Magnificent Mile walk was refreshing and SO MUCH TO SHOPPING available. The weather was perfect 55-70 degrees everyday of our trip. It was hard to return to Texas after such a lovely weather experience in the windy city.

I love how unique the hotel is, the architecture is top and how they kept vintage items. I think the beds need updating, since they can be uncomfortable,

Great place

Non-operable refrigerator that had to be replaced. Poorly functioning shower. Limited amount of conditioner that was not sufficient for two girls with long hair. No body wash. Definitely disappointing.
