Gold Country Inn and Casino by Red Lion Hotels

Room was a throwback to the 1970's. Casino was cute and small. The restaurant was nice along with the staff.

The toilet handle was broken. Everything was rundown and dirty.

But if you appreciate a little retro charm, enormous rooms, cleanliness, comfort, and genuinely friendly service, this place is a gem! Yes, the hotel is dated—but I prefer to call it “beautifully retro,” with a definite 1960s vibe. And honestly? We LOVE it. The rooms are huge, clean, comfortable, and everything is clearly well maintained. There’s something wonderfully nostalgic about the whole place that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a different era without having to sacrifice a good night's sleep. The front desk staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, which makes a huge difference after a long day on the road. And the location is fantastic—right on the main street, with easy access on and off the highway. We make several road trips, and Elko is our perfect halfway point, so this is officially becoming our go-to stop. We’ll absolutely be staying here again. Five stars for service, comfort, cleanliness, location, and retro charm. Why fix what isn't broken?

The staff was great and the room was reasonable. I have been staying there off and on for years and maintenance has been limited; they need to put some money into the property.

Nice accommodation

Very nice for the price. We were actually impressed with the room more than we thought we would be. The gal at the front desk was helpful as well.

The second night to bar service was very good. First night not so good. Check in lady was a little crude and the room was clean but the sink had no stopper in it.

Television wasn't working on arrival. Fixed by staff. None of the ice machines in the five buildings are working. Cleaning staff works hard, but buildings are not being maintained.

Great place. Comfortable rooms. Great food.

Staff was excellent, got an early check in which was perfect after 450 miles riding my Goldwing.

Nice stop with casino for 1 night

Nice size room, bathroom huge,must be an ADA room. Room was near the pool, not that I used it. Very friendly staff. Grassy area close for my dog. Location great. Shower head was wonky, water squirting from joints. It was a regular shower head plus hand held. Registration was in casino so smelled smokey. There was a sign on the desk, No Smoking?)

Very nice property. Huge rooms. Mattresses were on the soft side but comfortable. Shower would not drain properly but that was minor. Staff were excellent. Restaurant on site was very good also. Would recommend and will stay here again

VERY DATED hotel! Our shower was handicapped accessible and the shower heads both sprayed in different directions. Tub didn’t have a plug, tv was old and room didn’t smell good. The staff was very helpful and kind. If it wasn’t for the staff, we would have gone elsewhere to stay.

Properly maintained exterior is not in good shape pealing paint, etc . Interior is ok

Had to hold toilet handle down to flush, hard pillows, and remote didn't always wirk to change tv channel

Dirty walls, dated amenities that barely work. Mattresses that are at least 20 years old. Sheets that smell like cigarettes.

The pool closed after dark! They should add some lights by the pool and stay open longer!
