LIC Manhattan View Hotel

Location is good, 5min to the underground We booked this hotel for our honeymoon and told the hotel in advance. They replied in writing that our celebration was noted. Despite that, we were given a room in poor condition: mold in the bathroom, a room that wasn’t clean, and a very old, worn-out hair dryer. The air conditioning didn’t work. Instead of fixing it or moving us, staff brought in a large portable unit that was so loud we couldn’t run it at night. That left us choosing between heat and sleep. The “complimentary breakfast” was one of the reasons we chose this hotel, and it was very misleading. It was just bread, bacon and some sweet pastries left out on a counter. Nothing else. If we had known, we would have booked elsewhere. Finally, my husband lost an earbud near the pillow during the night. We wrote to the hotel the same day. They promised to look for it but never got back to us. When we followed up, they said they would check again, and we never heard from them. The earbud was never returned. For a stay we had told them was special, the room, the breakfast and the follow-up all fell well short. We wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

While it is closer to midtown, I will not opt this hotel for the money that I paid. Right from the check in, it was a disaster. The helpdesk staff who checked in was very rude and unhelpful. Rooms and towels were untidy and small for the price.

The room was modern, and clean

Only the location if you are planning to spend your time in Manhattan. Hotel is a 3 minute walk to train station. Needs remodeling asap.

[Cons] - Misleading Photos & Views: Despite the name "LIC View Manhattan Hotel," the listing photos feature high-floor rooms with great sunlight, which don't reflect lower-floor rooms with no view at all. - Small Room & No In-Room Amenities: The room is tiny with only one chair and no extra seating, making it inconvenient to eat. Storage is minimal, trash cans are small, and there is no coffee maker or kettle (must go to the 1st floor). - Loud AC: The room's AC is outdated, and the provided portable AC unit was extremely noisy. - Housekeeping Issue: Housekeeping staff moved our personal belongings on the bed and threw away plastic bottles stored in our luggage area rather than in the trash, which felt intrusive and careless. - Location Inconvenience: The nearest subway station lacks elevators, requiring a 10-minute walk to an accessible station with luggage. There are no grocery stores nearby; the closest Target or Trader Joe's is a 15-minute walk or subway ride away.

When we checked in the front desk staff told me that there was a complimentary continental breakfast and a hot breakfast for $14.99. They also told the woman in front of me. The next morning, when I tried to take advantage of the breakfast, the attendant said I needed a ticket from the front desk. The front desk staff then told me the hotel did not offer a continental breakfast, only a $14.99 breakfast. Clearly your staff are not on the same page. The breakfast issue.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Beds were not the best. Some questionable things (balcony door not able to fully shut, some rooms didn't have an air conditioner, there seemed to be some booking confusion due to using booking.com? And they changed breakfast to being an additional charge which was not reflected on booking.com).

The location was great, having parking on site was also great. The staff was a bit rude. Cleanliness- I honestly dont know how to describe how dirty the space in front of the balcony. I have multiple pictures. Pillows were uncomfortable.

This hotel is showing its age, but acceptable for the modest price. Balcony was a plus, but room was cold and heating intermittent.

Breakfast was messy and not as good, it is pity because the dinning room is so nice.

Location was very good and nice that they kept our luggage at the desk until checkin. Our room was on floor 15 and very quiet. Nice to have a refrigerator in the room. Phone in room was dead! Breakfast was only pastries and garbage in breakfast area was overflowing and gross! It took 3 requests at front desk to fill a simple request for additional towels in the room.

Very safe and good me and my wife liked it 😉
