Absolutely everything Can get rough at night close by

Didn’t like that my request for late checkout wasn’t acknowledged at all.

Rooftop bar was great. Breakfast was great.

On the positive side, the rooms are kept very clean and the restaurant is awesome. On the bad side, the lights are far too dim in the hallways and in the rooms. California is a pretty sunny place, so the darkness is striking. Also, the wiring is terrible. They have old-fashioned light switches from like the 20s. The wire must’ve been upgraded, but there are no spare outlets to plug in a laptop charge a phone, that kind of thing had to unplug the lights, which makes the room even darker!

Windows are not double glazed, so wth the trucks, emergency vehicles, buses, random yelling from the street and helicopters it was quite noisy. Staff were not as helpful, chatty or welcoming as they could be. Reception staff and door staff NEVER acknowledged guests, even when walking past them into the hotel lobby. The area is gritty at best, dodgy at worst. Don’t stay here if you like to wander around looking at things. The streets around are confronting, with homelessness & mental health issues everywhere to be seen. Great spot to go and see a concert or sports event nearby. Highly recommend the burritos at Tacos Mexico a short walk up the road. Beautiful building and I’m glad that the developers spent the time making it look retro again.

Location was perfect for where i needed to be. Friendly staff, breakfast a la carte, clean and large room with very good beds. Very comfortable There was Noise from the road outside (loud cars driving by etc) even on the 5th floor. Slept with earbuds in and then it was fine. Only 2 elevators for the building so sometime some waiting..

Lovely look Some things are not finished yet, e.g. there is no a/c grills in the ceiling, the room had a defective smoke alarm where the green light keep on blinking randomly. The lights are not well separated, so there is only turning on the two lights (entry and bedroom) rather than independently.

I stayed here for three nights while attending a conference, and while I can imagine it was great when it first opened, it now feels pretty worn down. The beds were especially bad and seemed completely worn out, and the property could use a deeper cleaning and general refresh. If you're looking for a trendy, hipster-style hotel and don't need much support, it may be fine. But if you're traveling for business and want a well-run hotel with reliable service, comfortable beds, and a more polished operation, I'd skip this one.

We loved our stay here. The room was a cosy queen corner room, super quaint but the space was used really well so it never felt cramped. And was clean and well maintained. The rooftop bar has stunning views! The staff was super nice from valet to front desk to housekeeping to room service to roof top bar, everyone was really cool! The only thing I can say wasn’t ideal was the road noise in the room, but maybe in time, they can get some sound proof windows and then they’d be perfect. I’d still stay here again in a heartbeat.

It was in a good location to explore downtown and within walking distance to the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Loved this hotel, clean property. Loved the pool area, the parking is expensive but for 2 girls driving it was easier to just use it.

Great hotel with fantastic food options and roof top pool. Rooms are well appointed and staff super friendly. Definitely recommend

Moonlark's was awesome - fantastic service, food, etc. Loved it, would have gone back if I stayed longer. I was pleasantly surprised by the whole experience of staying at the hotel - I would stay at The Hoxton again if I come back to LA and need to station myself downtown.
