I travel frequently and have stayed at hotels all over the world, and I genuinely cannot remember encountering hotel staff this openly indifferent toward their guests. I politely asked one staff member whether the hotel had a business center or any type of business room. Without even making eye contact, the response was simply, “Nope,” followed by complete dismissal. No explanation, no suggestion, no attempt to help. Just “Nope.” I was honestly stunned that someone working in hospitality would think this was an acceptable way to speak to a guest. The bell staff were equally baffling. Guests were constantly entering and leaving, yet they barely opened doors or offered to help with luggage. At times, I genuinely wondered why there were bell staff there at all. The front desk was also consistently cold and unwelcoming, with the exception of two male staff members who were professional and helpful. Yes, the hotel was busy because of the US Open and UNGA. But being busy does not excuse basic rudeness. Eye contact, courtesy, and treating paying guests with a minimum level of respect should not disappear simply because the hotel is busy. A renovated interior means very little when the hospitality is this poor. There are far too many hotels in New York to spend this kind

Bright and cheery. Great for reading! So many hotels are poorly illuminated nowadays. Nice to see that The Benjamin is not following that trend.

The staff was very kind and always helpful and made our stay very good Prime location, very easy access to all methods of transpoirt being only a few blocks away from Grand Central as well as being walking distances from prime retail locations The AC in the rooms were quite noise There were some allowences on the room charge (moeny that could be used in teh restaurant, room service and laundry) but it was not really clear on how to use them, nor how they were applied to the bill
