Thompson Central Park New York, by Hyatt
About Thompson Central Park New York, by Hyatt
A New York Classic, Remastered. The property offers a combination of suites and rooms with varying views and low floor options. Designed to accommodate work and play, our rooms have been upgraded with refined finishes — warm woods, sleek marble, jewel-toned pops — and unexpected touches, like sculptural ombré lighting, ribbed wall detailing and an inventive geometric étagére. And starting in early 2022, our guests can also expect an elevated New York experience from our Upper Stories collection of rooms and suites perched on our topmost guest floors. Thompson Central Park New York is within 1640 feet of Carnegie Hall, the Museum of Modern Art, Central Park entrance and Radio City Music Hall. Just off the lobby, you’ll find Chef Manish Mehrotra’s signature restaurant, the inventive Indian Accent, which has consistently ranked high in Zagat, Time Out and Eater. And for a quick bite, our incognito Burger Joint outpost has long been a beloved best-kept secret.

Clean room. Helpful staff
-
The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. The front desk staff was great -very helpful and pleasant.

Room was a decent size, very roomy for New York and regularly cleaned. Some previous guests have complained about the cost of eating at the hotel - it is expensive but certainly not extortionate for its location. We had dinner and breakfast and both were excellent. There are also many eateries and restaurants within walking distance (Applejack diner was my favourite and the cheapest for breakfast). The gym at the hotel is open 24 hours and is excellent. Overall this was an excellent choice, great location (walking distance to Central Park, shops, theatre district, restaurants, and many sights, etc.), really helpful staff, good gym and albeit a tad expensive the food was good. I’d definitely stay here again.

Very spacious and beautiful room. Love the modern decor. Nice snd safe area within walking distance to Times Square, Central Park, and high end shopping. Next to 24 hour grocery stare. Would love to stay there again.

Loved this hotel!

Breakfast was excellent, the coffee AA my husbands favorite and my kids loved the chocolate pastries.. the hotel was clean and staff friendly and helpful. I liked that there was a separate elevator for the higher floors so we didn’t have to wait in long queues or stop at every floor. When we arrived at 3pm to check in our room was not ready. We were escorted to the lounge for complimentary snacks and drinks but we waited over 75 minutes and were never notified that our room was ready.
-
Very clean and quick checking in and out process. Lifts were also quick too and very good size room albeit slightly dated. Toilet in our room constantly made a noise as if flush never completed.

I did not like the service. I asked for ice 2 times and the 2 times they took more than 30 minutes to bring it to me and it was too late the both times. The table in my room was left without cleaning after I had eaten there and the stains where still there when I got back to the room later that day (they had made the bed and cleaned room but not the table). We had breakfast at the restaurant and there are not options for getting just eggs, you had to get the whole continental breakfast . The

The property and the location is really good but the walls in the room are paper thin - you can hear people talking in the next room - hard to get a good night sleep.

Fantastic rooms but sub par guest service and hospitality. Rude/complacent service

I cannot praise this hotel enough. Every staff member we encountered was incredibly helpful from Justin who checked us in to the concierge Stanley. A few minor issues were dealt with efficiently and politely. The spa was great as well.
