It was a great stay!

Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Our room was clean. Bed was comfy. It is a very intersting hotel...fancy. The restaurant in the hotel waan't my favourite food. Paid parking...across the street in a parking garage. Tea ..coffee and water in the lobby which was nice.
-
great character, amenities are lacking a bit, no coffee maker in the room, had to ask for it,

Great location, value for money and friendly staff. Interesting art and decor too. Nothing

The property has a lot of character. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Our room was cozy.

Breakfast was delicious. Happy Hour had great drinks and delicious snacks. Parking was right across the street. We would stay here again.
-
Rooms were very tight and old.
-
The staff at the front desk was very friendly. Our bartender at the Driftwood Room was attentive and we loved our waitress at Gracie’s for breakfast.

Small but comfortable room, but when are they going to replace the carpets. Huge, ugly stains. It's a cool hotel but the image is spoiled by the soiled carpets in the room.

Excellent location near downtown Portland. Staff was amazing and hotel amenities were perfect.

Customer service is terrible here. Staff don't care. The hotel adds a compulsory $30 charge PER NIGHT for in room amenities like coffee and cleaning. However, you don't get your room cleaned unless you ask. I have a number of complaints with the manager who never responded. I'm still waiting for a response to my many emails, calls and messages.

I would have loved to stay here in the 1920s, when the finishes were cared for and the amenities presumably worked. Unfortunately, what remains today feels less like historic charm and more like decades of deferred maintenance. The couches in our room were tattered and covered with fitted sheets, which did little to hide the stains underneath. We were so uncomfortable with their condition that we didn’t sit on any of the furniture during our entire stay. The bed and mattress appeared to have been treated similarly, with sheets seemingly being used to disguise how worn and stained everything was. The bathroom was another issue. The tub is extremely difficult to step into, and I can imagine it being a serious challenge for an older guest or anyone with mobility limitations. Worse, the tub did not drain properly. While showering, we ended up standing in approximately five to six inches of water. We were genuinely happy to leave. Had the room not been so inexpensive, I absolutely would have asked for a refund. The photos online are impressive, but once you arrive, you begin to understand why there are so few pictures of the property, there is enormous potential here.

Was never told that the extra $116 in amenity fees. Water was never hot or cold, only lukewarm.
-
Gracie's restaurant was excellent. The little fitness facility was good, small but adequate. Open 24 hrs. Recommend ?
-
$40/night parking.
-
We needed to check in early because of an event we were attending, and the staff was very accommodating.

First off the rate that "included taxes and fees" is a lie- was charged additional 33.66 for convenience? No not for parking. Then I understand it is an old building but still- everything is weathered down, when tried to wash up and brush teeth at night could not get cold water - and hot and cold faucets were pouring hot water, not cold -HOT. In the morning had cold and hot water, no explanation available -"some room had that happen before". Its a mystery. in other words not impressed if not to say more.

BOTH restaurant and bar were excellent. Perhaps one of the most outstanding breakfast experiences I have had (at Gracie's), and the bartender the night before had a full house, but handled it with expertise (shout out to Gregory). Cozy everything, and the lobby is lovely. Paid extra for a larger room with a King sized bed, but one side of the bed was really compressed, and there was a hump in the middle - making it difficult to reach my partner to cuddle. The biggest issue was that the side closest to the door had such a slump that I was falling off much of the night. Really needs a mattress upgrade. But the room was great otherwise, if a little worn.
