Frequently asked questions

How do I find a wedding hotel close to my ceremony venue in Salt Lake City?
Start by searching hotels near your ceremony location, whether that's downtown, near the Temple Square area, or another neighborhood. Engine lets you search and compare properties across Salt Lake City, so you can filter by proximity to your venue and see which hotels offer the reception space and guest rooms you need. The Grand America Hotel, Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City, and Salt Lake Marriott Downtown at City Creek are all centrally located and offer substantial event space alongside guest accommodations.
How does billing work when I book a room block for my wedding guests?
Engine offers consolidated invoicing, so you can manage payments in one place rather than coordinating with each guest individually. You'll have multiple payment options to choose from, and there's no membership fee to use the platform. This makes it straightforward to handle the financial side of your guest-room arrangements.
What should I compare when choosing wedding hotels in Salt Lake City for my out-of-town guests?
Look at the number of guest rooms available, proximity to your ceremony and reception sites, and any on-site amenities that will make your guests comfortable. You'll also want to compare the hotels' event space if you're hosting your reception on-site. For example, The Grand America Hotel has 775 rooms and 22 event spaces, while the Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City offers 700 rooms and 3 event spaces, including the Regency Ballroom at about 23,000 square feet.
What makes a hotel a good fit for hosting a wedding?
A strong wedding hotel offers ample reception and banquet space, enough guest rooms for your out-of-town visitors, and facilities that can accommodate your timeline, from getting-ready suites to post-ceremony celebrations. The ballrooms at properties like The Grand America Hotel (about 23,000 square feet, up to 3,000 people) and the Salt Lake Marriott Downtown at City Creek (about 14,000 square feet, up to 1,600 people) provide flexible space for receptions of different sizes. Amenities like catering, on-site coordination, and getting-ready suites vary by property, so confirm those details directly with each hotel.
How do I book a block of rooms for my wedding guests?
If you need 9 or more rooms, Engine Groups handles the booking for you. For 8 rooms or fewer, you can book self-serve directly on Engine. Either way, you'll be able to search, compare, and secure accommodations for your guests in one place.
Why don't you show rates for these hotels?
Hotels give Engine rates they only allow us to show business travelers, so a public page cannot list them. Create a free account with your work email to see them.
Is Engine free?
Yes. An Engine account is 100% free and without commitment, and you can leave anytime. Sign up with your work email.
