The hotel is in a very central location, close to public transportation, tourist attractions, and restaurants. The staff is helpful and was willing to quickly resolve the issues I identified. The room wasn't very clean, and I had to request another cleaning since daily housekeeping is not included. The breakfast and most of the food did not seem fresh. The internet in the room worked poorly. The elevator cannot handle the number of guests, and I had to walk up five flights of stairs for five days.

staff was nice, location is great and the sheets were clean and fresh. Room looked nothing like the photos on the website. It was a completly different level of room. No wallpaper, different furniture. Felt like a bait and switch. The communications were incredibly aggressive before check in. I've never seen a hotel (and I stay 80 nights/year) charge for housekeeping before! Also the check in was so strict that it was displeasing. I arrived at 2:50pm to check in. Was told I had to wait until 3pm to check in. At 3pm, was told my room still isn't ready. I had to get a person at the front desk to help. So hostile toward your guests. Your automated system is mean.

Exceptional

Without exception EVERY employee was kind attentive and really went out of their way to help The breakfast was good - cereal and hot eggs sausage etc-- BUT does start at 0700 not 0630 as posted Fairly quiet even tho on a busy SFO street-- location was good for us Bed was way too soft and uncomfortable due to that Really in need of update - bathroom molding broken and tub needs caulking- carpet in room really tired they charge extra for room cleaning ( a bit absurd) but they will bring up fresh linens etc if you need

The parking was a little inconvenient but that seems to be the way it is in this area. The breakfast was ok, a little hot food.

I loved the location, easy to access cable cars and tourist activities, being close to Union Square. Hotel is very quant and vintage, staff very very helpful and professional, as i had a few issues to start with. After issue with first room, my second room was lovely big and clean out looking the street with bay windows. Breakfast is included and nice cold lemon water available all day for refill. Best Italian restaurant on the corner…..I would stay here again Some Rooms could be airer out more

Location was really good staff were brilliant

Vintage is the right word - hotel is well kept but not new. Clean rooms, generally has the amenities you’d need for a short stay. Solid value and great location. Expect some road noise on lower floors. Plentiful free breakfast including eggs, sausage and potatoes. Would stay again.

Breakfast was decent

Decent location Decor of rooms tired Breakfast poor and served on paper plates with diff sad possible cutlery which not only seemed poor quality but also wasteful
-

Old but lovely building

The room was very comfortable, with a large bed and a small but practical bathroom. The breakfast was really good too. The automated check in was very fast as well. Our room was a corner room and had windows in two of the walls, so the noise from outside was unbelievable. They provide earplugs but they weren't enough to cancel the noise. I couldn't rest very well.

Breakfast was a great addition to our stay. Appreciate Vincent Urbain helping us with early check in at the counter. Friendly demeanor. Enjoyed the complementary infused water. Also enjoyed hanging out in the fireplace area in the lobby The stained ceiling glass upstairs was broken
