Staff were super friendly and helpful!!

When I arrived, my room wasn't ready yet. I sat in the lobby waiting for over 1 hour. The girl who was at the front desk went on break, I don't know if she checked on my room or not. I finally talked to the new person at the desk and she was like oh it is ready. They never checked on me or followed up. The room itself was over the side or back of the hotel above the street. There is no insulation so you can hear EVERY vehicle, person, dog, cricket that is outside. I received a text message asking how my trip was going and I said not great, it's too loud. They moved my room 2 floors up to the back of the hotel saying this was a quiet area. True, there wasn't any elevator traffic and the hall was quiet. However, this room was a corner room that overlooked the loading dock of the hotel and the side street. So no, it was not quiet. Also upon arrival, the elevator was broken and the fire fighters were there in repelling rescue gear. This gave a great feeling of security (sarcasm). The breakfast buffet was $18 freaking dollars for eggs and sausage and was not included in my stay; a drink was additional. This is just too expensive for a breakfast buffet. If they served smoked salmon, quiche, omlets at request, french toast sticks, that may be worth $18 but definitely not this breakfast. There is no safe parking and they force you to use their vallet at about $50 per night. Now the cost of the hotel just went up more. I was not happy here.

Small things, but they added up to a mildly frustrating experience.

The breakfast was great, staff were wonderful, due to demand the wait for the cookies was sometimes long; room was great but due to renovations it got really noisy at times from mid morning until sometimes after 5 PM; sometimes had to leave the room because the noise was deafening!

Wonderful room and stay! Valet parking which I highly recommend.

The hotel was very clean(cleaning staff paid close attention to details) and the rooms and beds comfortable. The hotel is a bit dated and new carpeting and elevator refurbishment would help but if you can move beyond that it is a pleasant place to stay and conveniently located.

Great location. Valet staff were helpful and friendly. Room is fine and clean. Elevators were slow and inconsistent. Will stay here again.

They charge a $25 early check in fee but told me upfront my room was ready so why am I paying that? Just don't care for the nickel and diming tactic if you already told me there was a room available. I was in a room with a balcony which was nice but the noise overall from the street was a lot which was nothing against the hotel just a call out if you are a light sleeper you might want to ask for a room at the back of the hotel. Overall, would I seek this spot out again? Probably not, there are a lot of places in Savannah to pick from and the noise on Bay Street in general would probably push me to stay off there next time anyway. In a pinch I would still stay here though.

Exceptional

We had to ask multiple of time for maid service. We were there 4 nights and only had one housekeeping service which we had to request.
-
As always, the warm cookie I received was delicious. The front desk staff and the valet staff were exceptional. But $48 for mandatory valet parking is ridiculous. Valet parking should always be an option. I declined to pay for parking and found my own spot much cheaper. The bartender was a lovely man, friendly and on his mix game.

Very nice and a good location. Be aware of the parking situation, however. While it said parking on location, that is true only if you use their valet service at an additional $48 per night.
