The front desk agent was impatient and unclear. No one opened a door for me any of the 3 times I came and left. Room service has been shut down. There were no water bottles in the room and nowhere to get a snack, not even a vending machine. I was given a $700 suite since nothing else was available. (Really?) The overhead light was missing a bulb in the main room and there was no chair in the bedroom, so the only place to read was sitting on the bed. The mattress was too small for the bed frame so I kept hitting my shins. The breakfast restaurant messed up my simple order. There was only one server covering the entire restaurant. She was very kind and clearly put her best effort into her job, but management had made that job very difficult. What can I say that is nice? The lobby is beautiful. The restaurant is, too. The bathroom was very nice. My room was quiet. I wish I had a better report. I wish the hotel hadn’t made me feel sad about the state of the Marriott world.

Great Location. Old and Historic, but antiquated air conditioning; restaurant staff and offerings are quite limited.

Staff was so friendly and helpful. The hotel is beautiful and historic, and is within great walking distance to many favorite tourist spots.
-
It was clean and quiet and the hotel staff was okay not the most friendly or accommodating but the bellman and valet are nice

Location was great, hotel was beautiful and staff was helpful and friendly. Room was very comfortable. Service at the restaurant was slow but was maybe just because it was busy. I would stay again!
-
Hotel is located in a decent area and some other hotels are also near by . We stayed due to history of the hotel. No exceptional service was provided by the hotel staff . Room was ok with basic amenities. They may want to upgrade the hair dressers in the room as the current ones are out dated.

The Location was good The stay was made extremely uncomfortable and unpleasant due to the staff's persistent expectation of receiving tips for virtually every service provided. Rather than making guests feel welcome and relaxed, many interactions felt transactional and pressurizing. During breakfast service, staff openly expected a tip for serving food. At the bar, simply pouring a drink was accompanied by an expectation of additional gratuity. Even when luggage was stored for a brief period while guests took a short walk outside after a long flight, there was an apparent expectation of payment in the form of a tip. Guests choose hotels to relax, unwind, and enjoy a comfortable experience. Unfortunately, the constant pressure to tip for every routine service created an atmosphere of discomfort and frustration, detracting significantly from the overall stay. Hospitality should make guests feel valued and at ease, not repeatedly put in situations where they feel obligated or pressured to provide additional payments for standard services.

Hair clogged bathroom. Roaches in the lobby. Incorrect information from front desk. Incorrect billing at checkout. Toenail clippings from previous guest found outside and inside of room. Botbwhat I used to love about this hotel.

Great location, half block from the Metro red line.

Staff were professional and polite The cleaning was poor and repeated charges were being deducted from my account and then returned. The charges me almost $150 for receiving delivered items for me
