We chose this Marriott over two less expensive options because it was convenient, and pretty. We wanted to give our kids an experience they’d never had. We could afford this hotel but we do tend to be more frugal people and I was a little surprised at the cost of amenities that I have considered standard or complimentary at every hotel we have ever stayed at. While it may not have affected my decision to stay here, I wish I’d known about them up front. Namely, parking, coffee, and wi-fi. I don’t think we’ve ever stayed somewhere where I had to pay extra for those three things. This is probably standard in bigger cities though. Parking-self park costs $52/night, valet costs $62. Coffee-no coffee maker in the room. Starbucks in the hotel lobby, so $15/2 coffees. We are typically all day coffee drinkers. We became once a day coffee drinkers. Wi-fi-$15/day. Glad we have hotspots. My only real issue with the hotel though was how warm the room stayed. Thermostat said 66 (lowest), but there’s no way it was less than 73-74. Sleeping was uncomfortably warm for our family, and everyone slept no sheets/blankets. The pool was nice and pretty large for an indoor hotel pool.

We were charged a “Destination Fee” of $25 a day which seems to be a thing for hotels to charge more. Part of it is charged and partially returned—$15–if you consume food or drinks on site on that day. So we tried. The times we ate in the restaurant, we were greatly disappointed and of course prices are very high. We were trying to use our destination fee that was charged but walked away with bad food and a high tab. As for the breakfast, just essentials only. Bread cold, fruit juices not out. They must be requested. We asked for a three-egg plate and were given two eggs. Personnel had trouble with our English. No variation for the four days we were there. One day our room was not made up. It seems if you get up late, they will not pass later. We had to request a hair dryer. The one in the room was missing. Positive points—ice machine was close. There was a suburban and driver complimentary for short trips around Buckhead. Just tip the driver. Hotel is within Lennox Square, which is helpful.

I slept well

The property was nice, I love how it have valet parking and the staff was very friendly. The room was very clean and relaxing. The restaurant and bar was convenient and also the mall was a few steps away. I had no issues other than when we got the cards and it did not work for us at the parking garage at first, and we had to go back in and get the keys fixed, but no problem after that.
