nice for a quick stay! staff was helpful!

With the "university area" in the name, we thought it would be closer to the university, specifically the Moody Center. The property is fine, rooms are nice, even if showing their age a little. The general area is not the greatest. Not dangerous or anything, just does not have a well looked after impression. Overall good value, and one of the best deals for our particular weekend.

The room did not look like in the picture.
-
The price was good but the walls are paper thin and we heard people screaming in the pool at 11pm, people fighting in the room next to us at 7am( we had to pound on the wall to get them to stop)
-
Staff was great, but the property itself is quite old and lacks maintenance...
-
everything was great except the breakfast took too long and would rather have a all you can eat breakfast
-
No microwave in room and the gym too small had a lot of hair in my room

It was easy to access the hotel. The front desk employees were very helpful and friendly. The facility is clean. The bed was comfortable as well as the room.

I was expecting my normal experience at a Courtyard by Marriott. The pictures looked decent, modern. That is not what I encountered. Old, musky building that didn't feel as if rooms had ever been refreshed. Hair on towels, in bed, and when I started the shower brown water came out. I am assuming from rusty pipes and never changed fixtures. The makeup remover wipes were discolored and stunk~ as if they had been around too long to still be good to use. The clientele were loud.. came in at 3am and all in all was not a good experience. I won't stay at this location again. Truly disappointed in this Marriott experience.

ROOM, BATHROOM, TOWEL NOT IN THE STANDARD OF MARRIOT. A BIT OF A DISAPPOINTMENT. PLT MEMBER

When I called them , they said you can fit 5 ppl in 2 beds. When I argued he started blaming me. His name was Kevin and its worst ever customer service experience in North America. Forget about refund, he didn't even apoligize for the mistake. I was a gold tier customer but now saying good bye to expedia.

I've stayed at this location a few times in the past, although I haven't been there in the last few years. Parking is free and easily accessible from the I-35 feeder road, although visitors need to slow down and watch for the sharp entrance. Check-in and -out were quick and easy, and I was placed on the eight floor. Amenities are few in the rooms - tea kettle and a few tea packets (one which looked like it had been around for awhile) and coffee filters. No microwave. Blow dryer available in the bathroom, and good closet space. Bed was large and fairly comfortable, although the sheets were a bit scratchy and stiff. Took awhile to figure out the thermostat. Bathroom was large, but I couldn't get hot water in the sink. I asked the desk clerk on the first night if someone could look at it, and she said she could have someone up that night. I said the next day would be ok, but she entered the request in the log. Never did see a maintenance worker, and never did get hot water in the sink. On the other hand, the water in the shower was very hot, and the faucet itself a bit stiff to move. No free breakfast, but items can be purchased at the cafe bar. A couple of restaurants within walking distance. Overall the building shows the usual wear and tear - carpet stains, peeling paper and boarding, etc. Fairly quiet except for the noise from I-35 throughout the day.

The pool was clean and well maintained and kids enjoyed every minute. Did some Caverns adventures while in Austin, this Hotel had stores and food close by.
