The morning shift was helpful

The only thing I wish all the elevators were working for my last day to check out I had to take the stairs 6 floors down due to the wait.

The people at the front desk were horrid. They were over charging me and refused to fix it. They said my room was $525., then to $453.00. At check out $350.00. They refused to look at my papers from Hotel.com. I called their accounting dept when I got home. They were very rude but finally refunded my card.

The worst night was September 19. A large group arrived in roughly six buses, and when we returned around 11 p.m., the elevator wait was over an hour. After waiting patiently, I went to the front desk. The alternative they offered was to walk up to our floor. A hotel expecting a group that large should have had a better plan for guests already staying there. The group was also loud enough that we could still hear them once we finally got into our room. This was my first trip to North Carolina, and I had heard this was one of the best places to stay. Unfortunately, the repeated issues made the experience frustrating from start to finish. I expected much better from a Hilton.

TV didn't work, even after maintenance "fixed" it. No lobby coffee. Had to pay to park in large outdoor lot.

It’s very clean and one of the nicest views I’ve ever been to

I got there and apparently there were several “events” going on at the hotel. There was literally not one parking place available and several other cars were just circling the parking lot with nowhere to park. I went to the front desk and they acknowledged the problem over & over. That’s great that everyone understands the problem but where am I supposed to put my car? Their response was to park it illegally (they actually suggested in front of a fire hydrant). I asked if it was possible to get a refund even though I had prepaid. The front desk assured me that I would be refunded and they waived the late cancellation fee (since it really was their fault I had no safe, legal place to put my car). I asked for a receipt and the front desk person said one would be emailed to me. It has been a full week, I have not been refunded and I have never received a receipt. Never doing business there again.

Nikiya at the front desk made my daughter's 16th birthday stay amazing. Awesome view from our room. Beautiful hotel and great location. Close to attractions but out of the chaos of the city.

Only complaint is having to pay for parking daily when the lodging cost is already high. The location is wonderful. You can walk to restaurants and some shopping. It is also very convenient to UNCC campus.

Great stay! Clean room!

The only thing I really liked was the lake, the beautiful natural scenery, and the view around the fountains. The cleanliness of the food and the overall service were disappointing. There does not seem to be regular maintenance. The elevator and the waiting area for the elevator were not air-conditioned. The breakfast buffet was not clean, and the chairs were stained and covered with spots, which was honestly embarrassing. The shower faucet did not work properly, and some of the electrical outlets and lights in the room were not working either. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I do not believe this hotel is worthy of a 5-star rating.

Amazing

Excellent location. Close to food, shopping and the college.

Bed was firm, towels were very rough, our ac never cooled down past 75 despite it being set to 64. Probably would look for a different hotel next time. Very very overcrowded.

Exceptional

There are two main issues I had: 1. Parking your car is an unnecessary hassle. You have to scan a bar code, enter three pages of information for $10 a night. It is not free for Honors folks. why not make the charge and give the patron a sticker or placard for the dash of their car. 2. The bar/restaurant for a large hotel were crowded and amazingly small and not appealling. The staff were good but I have never been in a hotel where there is so little. The market is called a cafe which is weird and its hours of operation not the best. Overall it is a nice hotel, staff are friendly but a number of weird offsets. The other message you get before you arrive is "Due to security concerns your room will not be cleaned on a daily basis but every third day. If you require it needs cleaning then let the front desk know before midnight. There are no exceptions". How is cleaning my room a security risk

The staff was extremely hopeful in advising on dinner choices. We will definitely use this hotel as a go to in Charlotte.

Exceptional

I didn’t like that the food in Executive Lounge was not hot and no microwave for heating. Jordan and Jose’ (staff)were great in the lounge, helpful and friendly. I think that’s the two of them names we had on Monday morning.
