Exceptional Hotel with great amenities very close to all the happenings I thoroughly enjoyed my stay during my birthday

The hotel was very aesthetically pleasing with all of the listed amenities. I really enjoyed the basketball court. I was shocked at the chlorine’s power in the indoor pool, it gave me an instant headache. On my 3rd day, my friend received a note that the water in the hotel would not be available for several hours the next day. I was not able to make it back to shower around those hours so that was a huge inconvenience.

The location was nice, quick walk to North Michigan Ave and River walk. The restaurant staff was nice, but why did it take 20 minutes to get a to-go grilled cheese? The lighting in room was terrible! The tray of room service food stayed outside our door for the full three days we were there. The restaurant took 20 minutes to prepare a grilled cheese that was to go.... The front desk staff at check in was dry and short, not offering any information and not interested in our questions about the facilities.

Anna,(Receptionist) and the Concierge were great, the Hotel is nice! The room had good pressure and hot water in the shower. Ehh. I didn't expect to be in such a tiny space. This room required me to dust!! The coffee maker didn't get used it was dusty, the End tables and the top of the bed were dusty. I did have clean sheets and towels however.

Location was ok. I was told the pool and hot tub outside were open but outside hot tub was covered. WAY too much chlorine in the indoor hot tub. Everyone had burning eyes. Its a pretty over priced hotel for the quality of the accommodations. Kind of a weird tub in the room. Water only came to above my knees.
-
Underwhelming for the price. No amenities in room. No furnishings. Looked like furniture missing in room. Called front desk no answer for over 30 minutes. Views of city are great but that’s about it.

During my stay, my belongings were gone through by housekeeping and items were stolen from my room. I reported it to the hotel and was told someone would follow up with me, but that never happened. I have now spoken to five different employees, and almost every time, they have no idea what incident I’m talking about. I have had to explain the situation over and over again. Each person tells me they will figure out what is going on and get back to me, but nobody ever does. The staff has also been rude and dismissive about the situation. It honestly feels like they are allowing the employee involved to get away with it instead of taking the situation seriously. I also noticed while checking out that multiple other guests I didn’t know were making complaints about their stays as well. I would never trust staying here again. Guests should be able to leave their belongings in their hotel room without worrying about their things being gone through or stolen, and they should be able to trust management to take something this serious seriously.

The room was clean but there clearly were some issues -- empty shower gel, not able to turn on the shower handle (only overhead). On the flip side, the staff and management at the fire and ice restaurant attached were great!
