The bed, sheets, towels and TV service are great. Only one working elevator and the carpet in the hallway hasn't had a cleaning in years. The beachside room, the AC units are rotted out from sea spray and make awful noises. The city side view rooms the AC units are much nicer. The restaurant has great food. We've stayed 3 times over the last 4 years and every time it seems worse. Going to skip a few years and go some where else. The beach access can't be beaten. Right off the seawall.

Free breakfast that is advertised cost me $44.00 -said it was separate from hotel. Room was never cleaned after two day stay--no fresh towels, no fresh drinking glasses. You had to pay for everything that you wanted EXTRA. Will never stay at another Whyham again !!!

The hotel charged us a cleaning fee for allegedly smoking cigars in the room. No one in our party smokes, especially not cigars. This hotel sneaking in false cleaning fees is a despicable practice. The hotel hallway carpets are stained and disgusting. I paid for two rooms, and one room was not stocked with any bath towels. When I visited the front desk to request towels, they informed me that they would deliver some to our room. That never happened. The cloth shower curtains smelled like old mold and were also disgusting. The hotel guest elevator was broken, and has been broken since our first visit to Corpus Christi in June, and it is still broken in September. Late check out requests were denied which caused a massive traffic jam on the one guest elevator and service elevator during check out. We had to carry our luggage down the stairs after waiting in the hallway for 20 minutes. The only saving grace for this poorly operated hotel was the fact is that it is located on the beach. After experiencing such a disappointing hotel stay, I was even more infuriated with the fake charge for smoking in my room. With the dilapidated condition of the hotel, I can imagine they would try to generate revenue in anyway shape or form. This hotel is such a disappointment.

Great Staff, nearest hotel to beach so less walking, bar is fun!! Hotel building has been ravaged by the salt air and condition of hall ways and outside structure could use more attention but beds were soft.
-
Dated hotel, but right on the beach. Quiet at night. Very comfortable bed.

Location was great My reservation was not honored through booking.com. in which i stated I was showing up late. When I got to location they said they could not use my reservation and charged me their weekend rate which which was over $150. Then said they would refund the amount of the original reservation. Then they did not contact the company, didn't accommodate my stay, one employee was rude, and I went to the counter 4 times to find out what was going on. Now 4 days later im still trying to figure out what is going on. Booking.com asking me if I stayed, which i did. And now still being charged on both ends.

Very disappointed in this booking. The place was gross.

This place is very out dated and definitely a party location. Despite the party scene, the room was quiet. You have to sleep with the shades down because the lights are so bright they will keep you up. The pool is pretty great, the hot tub will melt your skin. Pigeons EVERYWHERE. Parking sucks. Not worth the money.

I will be back.

So to sum up, beautiful location and not bad yet not great hotel, but they don’t follow through with their promises.

The whole property has a run down feel.

The view from the the room was what we wanted but the room was not ready for guests. There was no toilet paper or a hair dryer. You can only request service during certain hours. We requested coffee for the next day but they didn't bring cups or water. The air conditioner didn't work too good. I think they should have a floor assigned just for people with dogs, we had dogs on both sides of our room and they barked and howled. The restaurant was horrible, the restaurant manager very rude. Overall for the price we paid not worth it.

Friday and Saturday the check in staff lady was very rude. Sunday morning staff very friendly. Room and hotel needs upgraded.
-
Very outdated and old. Pics need to be updated to reflect current conditions. Discussding on inside

The room was dirty when I arrived, and I saw a dead roach. The rooms did not appear to have been cleaned properly, which made the stay uncomfortable. I expected a basic level of cleanliness from a hotel, and this fell short. I would not stay here again.

Maintenance! The pool, the elevator, the entire building is in dire need of cleaning and maintenance
-
Also, they say they are “pet friendly,” but have lots of rules around bringing a pet. Read the fine print. They also charge $49 per night for one pet. We didn’t bring our small dog because of the overly stringent rules. I wouldn’t stay here again. The price is too expensive the condition of the hotel.

staff are friendly and check in was easy- the problem is they are being renovated and using this as an excuse not to clean the property. The hallways are filthy and were never cleaned during our 3 days there. The fitness room equipment has so much dust and build up on them and was obviously being neglected. I used the stairs because the elevator was the slowest one I have ever seen in my life time. The stair were filthy as well. I read all the reviews of this property prior to booking so I was not to shocked at what I saw. I often observed staff standing around doing nothing when they could have been putting pride back into this property. It seems like they just don't care about the dust and dirt during the renovation and use this as an excuse not to bust their buts and make this property shine! this property has potential but neglect is prevalent!
