AC Hotel Des Moines East Village

So disappointed with this hotel. They offer a complimentary shuttle within a 5-mile radius and more than half of the time they acted like they didn't want to take us anywhere. They constantly made excuses for us not to use the shuttle. When they did let us use the shuttle the drivers were very rude except Tim. On our last day I had scheduled a shuttle for the airport and when the time came for us to use the shuttle, the lady manager proceeded to say that she didn't have a driver available. Housekeeping personnel never came our last three days to take our trash, replace the water bottles, replace clean towels nor make our beds. If you expect to use the "complimentary shuttle" do NOT get your hopes up to use everyday.

The room was probably one of the cleanest hotel rooms that I have stayed in. Room is very modern and loved the shower. Staff was friendly and helpful

Central hub location with cheap parking options. Was right around the corner from a concert I was seeing.

I’m always happy to forgive the odd fail with hotels but there were enough during my eight day stay to result in a very average 3 star review. Firstly, the plus points; it’s a great location for eastern area of Des Moines with loads of restaurants and bars around, and plenty of parking. The room was big and the bed comfortable. Sadly, my room was only cleaned once during my 8 day stay, my toilet blocked at one point and when I returned in the evening, the toilet was working again but the room stank of sewage and the toilet was filthy. The main doors as you enter the hotel are out of action which is a poor first impression. All in all, not great.

I liked that they had a shuttle to the state fair! Super convenient. We loved that the parking garage was secured and hidden. The front desk staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was so clean and so well kept up that it was relaxing to stay.

It was a nice short stay after a concert. It was an easy walk from the venue so we didn't have to change our parking. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. Nothing to complain of

First off , the lady at the front check-in had a corn cob up her butt apparently as she was to put it mildly crabby. Then we were charged $35 for parking our HC vehicle. (Apparently you purchase a spot and if we had not had a hc placard we would have had NO parking). However, when we returned from the ballpark, all the HC parking was full! So we sat there not knowing what to do. I had to search for over 10 minutes to find their phone number (which of course was NOT easily found ANYWHERE on their website). When I finally found it and called, I was told we had to wait til someone left ??? What?? We paid $35 a night for a shared spot?? And wait- that wasn’t even all - the rain shower didnt work (and yes we knew how to use it) mentioned it to staff, was told we didnt know how to work it. Breakfast was great so there was one plus I guess. Certainly not work $300 for breakfast lol. My advice. Go somewhere else

The hotel was very nice, the staff was very helpful, they suggested other parking options than their underground parking at $35 a day cost. The disappointment of this hotel was the breakfast that I paid for , turned out to be yogurt, granola bars, plain croissants and coffee, was told there were not kitchen staff since it was a holiday. From past stays at AC hotels, the breakfast was an elaborate buffet with a European vibe. Great location to walk to shopping, restaurants or other attractions!

The staff was great and overall experience was good.
