Hampton Inn & Suites Des Moines Downtown

Great room! Friendly staff! And location was perfect for our trip to the Farmer's market. Parking was easy & access to the hotel super simple!

room and breakfast normal for Hampton asked about pool and jacuzzi and was told it was closed and that we could go around the block and use the Radisson. Cold and rainy didn't want to walk.. Front desk was pretty bland

Rooms are clean overall with some noticeable wear. Location, layout, amenities and staff are great.

Good spot to be downtown. Next the baseball field

Breakfast was superior. One of the big highlights of the stay. Good hot food and wonderful coffee. the business of using the room key for access to the parking garage is a bit confusing, but once we got the hang of it, it was slick. Perhaps more instructions or a handout might be helpful.

Nice property in a convenient location for a one night stay. Clean and appropriate for our travel needs. Will say the dog hallway (we didn't bring our dogs) had some carpet issues but being pet friendly we understood that could happen.

We have stayed there several time's and had a great stay. Our last experience was not good. Our room smelled like it had been

We liked the room but couldn’t get the heat to work.

Room was clean but was littered with baby flies or gnats and had no idea where they was coming from, I called front desk first thing in the morning after killing all I could find the night before and the sent maintenance up and they sprayed but didn’t accommodate me with another room or something after they found multiple bugs in the room and couldn’t tell where they were coming from. The final night I was there I was coming back from getting my Uber Eats and I saw bugs flying in hallway and one sitting on my door so hotel needs to get that looked at. I won’t be staying there again and I hope least get my deposit back.

Parking deck was expensive and had no lights so I parked on the street. I did one night of parking on my first reservation. I notified the front desk.

Location for principal park and downtown. Easy parking with garage.

They had the fact that you were gonna pay $20 for parking. It was not obvious on bookings.com that you were paying for parking. They did not put the notice out until the next morning about the cost for parking. Kind of sneaky.

The hotel was wonderful setting on River - the room was great and staff was very helpful!! Also close to everything down town!!

Breakfast was wonderful. The staff was very friendly. The room was really nice. It looks like the rooms have been remodeled/updated. The hallway carpets were pretty dirty and in tough shape. That needs to be replaced next!
