Fabulous location. Nice room. Super friendly staff.

The toilet didn't flush. The elevator was broken the whole trip. The rooms are out of date. The hall smelled bad- musty.

I'm wondering why they didn't do the work outside the hotel and in the parking garage during the summer instead of during football season and the beginning of school at Iowa when they know they have sellout weekends every time. Also, this has gone on for much longer than it should take, especially the parking garage. And the elevator has been out of service or over 3 weeks that I know of and when you only have 2 elevators for 8 floors, you should make it a priority to fix it quicker than 21 days.

The Iowa City Graduate is a perfect storm right now. The drop off arch is completely shut down and being redone completely. The garage parking lot is also being redone. Okay. We checked in for two days during the week and was placed on the 3 floor at the very end of the hall with a view over looking an enclosed construction site of a filling of an old swimming pool, fuse-ball table, and dusty ping pong table where the construction workers might have a break. I have a 3 more years until my kid graduates and another kid at Ohio State, are the Graduate Hotels really worth it?

Location is perfect for anything you want to do in Iowa city. For cleanliness, the carpet absolutely needs to be removed from at least half or all of the room. I thought that’s what we’re doing now.? Sealant in the shower stall needs replacing. There was a hot water kettle, but no tea and instant coffee instead. Seems cheap to not have some basic tea. The TV is nearly ancient with no airplay/wifi connection.

Nice stay

Always a great place to stay!
-
Great location right next to the University of Iowa and a pedestrian only street with many restaurants and bars. Room was uniquely decorated and comfortable. The ice machines were not functioning.
-
It has the charm in an old Inn at a perfect location. Staff was warm, helpful and always friendly.
-
Great location within walking distance of the University of Iowa campus. Has an indoor pool, but closed for renovation. No parking lot, but there’s a parking garage next door. No valet parking and a luxury hotel should have this. Only had one working elevator and this created a huge delay and inconvenience, for a 9 story hotel. We ended up hiking up flights of stairs to reach our 5th floor room. This inconvenience continued for our entire 4 day stay. There is a coffee shop with excellent breakfast and many to go items. There is also a restaurant that is open in the evening. Food is also excellent there. More positives than negatives. The fitness center is outstanding with free weights, machines, and treadmills. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Great location! Staff was friendly and professional.
-
the front desk staff and the server we had in the bar/restaurant were both outstanding. friendly, kind, patient. would have appreciated more outlets.
-
Decor and facilities a bit outdated. Unless you know the area getting there and parking can be a pain.

Cute downtown hotel. Nothing super fancy but great location and well kept.
-
Great location for enjoying downtown Iowa City. The room was clean and staff were helpful, but there were a couple of glitches during our stay. It was a busy weekend and the one working elevator was always full. Our sink did not drain properly so I bailed it with a paper cup so we could run more water—it was late and unlikely that the issue could be resolved that evening without inconvenience to us, the hotel staff, and other guests. They made note of it at checkout so it could be fixed.
