Hampton Inn Iowa City/University Area

Close to college Construction

It was one of the cleanest hotels we have ever stayed at. This is not the hotel's fault, just coming out of the driveway if one has to make a left turn, it can be tricky at times.

Very good

Superb

Great location with proximity to campus and Kinnick Stadium

The fitness room was in disrepair. The 2 elliptical were unsteady and unsafe. The AC wasn't working. I had to get maintenance to fix parts of the universal so I could use it. And just on the side, it was really inconvenient to have the coffee maker out near the front desk a whole room's distance from where the breakfast was placed.

Rooms are newly remodeled but can tell it was just paint/flooring and furniture. Clean rooms but beds are hard as a rock. For the price I was willing to stay again but then at 530 in the morning the fire alarms went off. Stuck around till 6 as I was hoping to have breakfast, they were still going off so I went to McDonalds.

Room was very comfortable and clean. The staff was very professional and friendly.

Good location, comfortable and clean Was still in process of being renovated, although did not interfere with stay

Ease of check in Size of room

Staff was exceptionally helpful, rooms were clean, felt very welcome Nothing

Big runs on the outside were loaded with garbage, and really should have been picked up. We did see a family of raccoons right next to the parking lot, which was unusual, because we were right in town.

Excellent

We woke up to our room invested with ants! Spencer, the hotel manager on duty, was awful! Zero help! He said we would receive a full refund for our stay, but I have not received anything and this was a week ago. The rate was also more expensive due to it also being college move in…..don’t stay here! Unless you want to be covered in ants! And receive horrible service!

Superb

The breakfast was fine except they didn't have raison bran. They didn't always have robust coffee; the regular is too weak.

The breakfast

Clean The breakfast

Great people. Would definitely stay here again.

The staff was great. The ladies at the front desk were very friendly, as was the lady preparing breakfast and the janitorial crew.
