Charming hotel and look forward to revisiting

We’ll be back for sure!!!

Great location, beautiful view. Older property (no AC, baseboard heat in room), but well maintained and clean. Very nice layout, with plenty of seating with views. Very comfortable bed. We’d stay here again.

Great charm

Love staying in historic properties. This property was clean but needs a little freshening.
-
The room and the bathroom are small and not clean. All the carpets are dirty. The restaurant is good. The reception staffs are kind and efficient.

The hotel was in a fabulous location with amazing views poolside. I loved Kennebunkport, a must see. A pleasant walk to the amenities without being on top of the hustle & bustle. Suited us very well.

The room was clean but old. I was there for a wedding and the buffet dinner was good.
-
Pros: Amazing ocean views from the historic main hotel. Coveside rooms were modern, comfortable & convenient. Staff was friendly & helpful. Con: Saturday evening wedding - parking was difficult and noisy groups lingered late into the night.

The colony is a beautiful property and we enjoyed staying there. The food was excellent, but they refuse to have salt shakers, which we missed. We were told they won’t put rice in the shakers because people complain about it. Also, the lobster in the dining room was out of this world, but they don’t have lobster pics and didn’t seem to know what we were talking about. It’s a real old-fashioned property so if you want all the modern amenities, this is not for you as you won’t find accessible phone outlets in the rooms. All in all, we do love the old school feel that this property provides.

Room was very clean and charming. The staff was friendly.

We were on the second floor with no a/c or tv to drown out the band from the wedding two floors below us. The toilet seat was cracked and there were ants in the bathroom. The shampoo dispenser did not work. Our "garden view" room was a view of a parking lot with construction trailers of some kind. We never spend over $400 a night for a room but we hadn't been on vacation for a while so we thought we'd splurge. Very disappointed. We left before 6 am this morning. We did have a very nice lunch on Saturday in the restaurant by the pool. If you go there, get the lobster dip.

The check in process was handled beautifully and we we treated very well throughout our stay. Jared and Steve were very kind. The older building does not have air conditioning but during our early September stay that was not a problem at all and it was actually so nice to have the windows open and feel the ocean breeze. We look forward to returning in the future.

Excellent Historic hotel really enjoyed staying here
-
Nothing, we booked an ocean view room. Upon arrival, it was nowhere even close to ocean view and it smelled horrible. We left and lost all our $ and had to pay for another hotel. I could not have slept in the room, no air conditioning and pets allowed which made the lack of air conditioning even worse.

Delicious breakfast and very walkable location. Perfect for kids as well

I don’t like the services. At check in, the representative told us wrong room number. Since we couldn’t open the room door, we walked back and forth twice between the main building and the Coveside building to “fix the key”. Finally they figured out the room number was wrong! Totally We spent 1 hour on check in. This is my worst check in experience EVER. On day 2, the cleaning lady took away some towels, but without sending us new towels. We called the front desk and were promised that someone will send us towels soon. After waiting for 2 hours, we had to go to the main building to take back towels by ourselves. We think some workers either don’t like their job or don’t care about customers.

No towels then bed was not made with clean sheets had to come make the bed. No body washing bottle in shower
-
Place is great. The pillows however...
-
We did not eat breakfast The older room meant that electrical outlets were challenging and we had to rig extension cords and sleep on a different side of the bed than usual in order to plug in a sleep apnea system
