MainStay Suites Fitchburg - Madison

Terrible the bed was stained and there were these little bugs on the bed I think bed bugs so be careful please.

Conveniently located on one of Madison's main streets (Fish Hatchery Road) and the Beltline. Will definitely stay again.

Clean, quiet, updated. Great breakfast. Great location. Helpful staff.

Upon my stay, the beds were comfortable, and the place was clean. Breakfast and coffee were good too. The lady who checked me in, wasn’t very pleasant. I checked in late in the evening and it seems like I was disturbing her. Not very professional at all.

Check was fast (and I was able to check in early with no fee). The room was nice with a full size table, office chair, kitchenette with dishes and a full size fridge. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, we slept well. Noise levels were very low, the walls must be thick, we would only hear an occasion door shutting. The hotel provides free breakfast from 630-930 which i did not partake,however they do have water and coffee in the lobby all the time, which was nice. The location was great! A very short walk to grocery store and several restaurants, and right across the street from a bus stop that goes to downtown. We would stay here again!

Breakfast was blah eggs and mystery meat patty or sausage, at 7:30 both cold. Staff (night person) not the very friendly. Should have gone to McDonalds. Bed was great, room clean and bathroom clean.

I traveled to Fitchburg because my mother passed away unexpectedly. I booked the room last minute (for obvious reasons) and realized a couple of hours after booking that I needed to extend my stay. Shouldn’t be difficult, right? Reached out via Expedia and ultimately had to cancel and rebook my stay because the local property was unwilling to make changes (odd to begin with but particularly in light of the circumstances). That should have been my first clue not to rebook there. The room itself and hotel were fine. Nothing special but well maintained. Cleaning happened about every third day. I had booked for 10 days, and 4 days in I realized it would make more sense for us to stay at my parents house with my father. I reached out to Expedia to adjust the stay and was told it was the local property policy not to make adjustments. I went to the front desk and asked to speak to the manager - although I think this is a highly unusual policy for a hotel, given the circumstances I thought they might make an exception. I was told the manager wasn’t available. I soon learned the manager is never available after stopping by several times. Finally I left my number and asked for a call back which never came. I stopped by the next day - still not available - and left my number again. We ended up paying for three nights we didn’t use, which is disappointing. I will not stay at this property again.
