Holiday Inn Brooklyn Downtown by IHG

Staff who checked me in and out were delightful. I don't seem to have contracted bedbugs! Easy access to metro (20 min to Penn station) and Atlantic Ave bus (which takes me right to my son's condo) Desk person warned me when I checked in that ice machines are down due to renovation, workmen would be there starting at 8 am, etc which was good. I saw some rolls of carpet just outside the entrance so I know work is being done. (Have pool/gym which I did not see so can't comment on what shape they are in). I understand they are in the midst of a sorely needed renovation. There was a chair in my room that was worn away (see photo), the headboard was wrapped in some sort of spread/material presumably to cover the sad shape that the headboard was in. Bathroom was OK. The bed was comfortable. The TV worked. Had blackout shades. A/C worked. The staff was nice. Not the greatest block in the area. Unsavory characters by metro, and not just at night (although lots of police there too which was reassuring). It has potential though. I would go back but only after the renovation and if prices remained similar.

Not a lot. The bed was comfy and the location good. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The hotel over charged myself and my daughter by nearly $4000 and we still have yet to get the issue resolved. Only one member of staff apologized and that was someone who was not involved in the over charge. The managers have not been concerned about this issue saying that the refunds etc will be paid back over the next 3 to 5 days. However my daughter cannot afford the $2500 that this hotel has taken off her in two separate payments. My advice is don't book with them.

Great location. Quick walk to Barclays Center even during the recent storm. Very much appreciated the convenience of this location.

The location of this hotel was excellent and the housekeeping was decent. one of the ice machines worked, you had to go down to the bar to get ice for your room. The pool had very strange hours of operation. Also, the vallet parking was kind of a mess.

Unfortunately, the hotel is not well maintained. It desperately needs to be renovated and at minimum a deep cleaning. It's unsettling to see how drastically different the rooms look in person. I would not recommend staying here if you value cleanliness. There's mold, dust, grime, hair, filthy carpet, yellow lighting, broken furniture & broken fixtures etc. They don't offer face towels. Staff refused to move us to another room. There was another couple at the front desk complaining about cleanliness when we checked in & we experienced the exact same thing.

The bed was comfortable and shower nice in the second room I was moved to at my request. The location was excellent for my specific needs. The hotel is being renovated. I was first put in a second floor not yet renovated room that had furniture my Goodwill would not have accepted.. for almost $500/ night I found this unacceptable. I requested to move and was given a “renovated” room on 13th floor. Seemed they didn’t quite finish the work. Electric plates were missing, the fridge was too large for the cabinet preventing the door from closing, one light that was six inches higher than I could reach only had a switch on the fixture… and there was no chair to stand on.. just a cube.

Convenient location and close to subway The room was dirty. There were holes in the walls. There was paint splatter and mismatched broken furniture.

Surprisingly comfortable bed and pillows. Staff unpleasant. Not welcoming. Elevator wasn’t working. Was given a room that was occupied. Had to go back down. Bad rating score at door.

Thought bed mattresses was so comfortable Carpet and room could be cleaned alot better.. Lighting could be better
