Black Bear Inn, an Ascend Collection Hotel

This place was amazing. The beds were comfortable and the room was especially clean. In the morning when I was getting out of the shower, the electricity went out. No one came around and informed us of what was going on. We were on the 3rd floor. We had to make 4 trips down with our luggage. No one offered to help us, and 5 employees were just sitting around. They could have slid a note under the doors to let us know what was going on, and if we needed assistance or help gave us a phone number to contact someone. But, that was my only complaint. Oh, and we go free ice cream.

Shower faucet and fixtures were loose and tub wasn’t draining properly. Otherwise the room was clean and the continental breakfast is very good

Two sinks, one outside the bathroom. Abundant breakfast. Quiet. Close to the freeway for also secluded from traffic noise. Plenty of parking, not crowded.

Great friendly staff and cozy homelike atmosphere

It was a basic stay. The hotel is starting to show its age. The room was ok. It wasn’t as clean as advertised. Unfortunately we don’t think we would stay there again.

Prepaid for the room for a concert in time and check-in was really simple. I went to buy a snack and found out popsicles were FREE! That was unexpected and great. We missed breakfast, but everything we experienced was great!

The bed was comfortable and staff were friendly.

Great experience from check-in on. Staff was welcoming and helpful. Hotel was clean and modern. Room was comfortable. Just alot of extras that all added up to a great stay: lobby soup& ice cream, extra sink area in room, lamp outlets for chargers, extensive breakfast options

The location of the room was very noisy through out the night and even early morning around 430. Also the bed was very soft, we are accustom to a form mattress.

Our destination was Bar Harbor, but hotels any closer were too expensive for our budget. This hotel was perfect for us. Clean, quiet, well maintained, good breakfast.

This hotel had a tureen of hot soup for guests. Fantastic for our late arrival having skipped dinner. There was a freezer full of icecream bars and Dixie cups for guests too. A thoughtful and very fun touch.

A great stop for an overnight stay after hiking at Acadia. Clean and quiet with free parking and a well-attended to free breakfast. There was waffle makers, pre-made breakfast sandwiches, yogurt, and more, which was such a value to us before we hit the road for a long day of driving.

Very friendly desk help! To our surprise, they had soup and ice cream, and our check-in, and surprisingly extensive breakfast. Very nice!

Our room was clean and bed was very comfortable. There was tea, coffee, & lemonade available in the lobby for guests. There was also shrimp gumbo available. The breakfast was included and there were many options available including gluten free options This was not our first time staying there & will stay there again if in area. Highly recommend

Nice place, very calm close to the highway. Town is not that far away good restaurant in old town, Pepper Martin's.

Very clean and nice for the price. Also the soup ice cream and lemonade when we got in last was amazing !

Room very clean, King bed was comfortable and lived having six pillows was wonderful! Good breakfast.
