Howard Johnson by Wyndham Torrance

Nothing Everything the room had a bad smell and I left with bite marks on my ankles. Plus haven’t released my 50 deposit

The room itself was ok, but the bathroom only had shampoo. The body wash was attached to the wall, so I had to use the wash cloth to squirt the soap before i start my shower. The front desk was helpful and gave me an extra bottle of body wash for the bathroom; however, I feel like it should already be in there! Staff was helpful. Also, the lobby being on the second floor was very weird, but once we figured that out, it was fine.

Elevator was broken the first 2 days when we got there. We got the room with flooring- which was not put it good. The carpet rooms were better. Waffles for breakfast. Parking was good.

Exceptional

The room was not worth for the price paid. The room amenities were outdated and old.

The room was so cold and it smelled good when I walked in which was so nice after walking around the shopping center. I’d book again next time I’m staying in the area!

Clean room. Great AC. Parking great. One problem: I booked 2 nights, but after the first nite, staff deactivates my room key. I have to ask staff to activate my card so I can enter my room again. It is an insult.

Room are small bathroom very small the hotel is a very busy street. Lobby is on the 2nd floor not visible. They offer breakfast it was only waffles

This place does not offer room service on the daily basis, they clean your room every three days, you need clean towels you have to pick them up at the front desk. They advertise free breakfast from 7 to 9 am but is HORRIBLE! It’s just waffles, coffee and orange/apple juices NO eggs, bacon, sausages or toast. WILL NEVER STAY AT THIS PLACE AGAIN.

Disappointing

The vending machine didn't give us our change.

However, the outdoor carpet was taped with duct tape across many seams and was badly stained in multiple spots. The bathroom tile was jagged and uneven at the entrance causing a hazard. The outside of the building needing cleaning and or painting. All in all not what we expected from Wyndham. We were very disappointed. However, we did stay at the Wyndham Travel Lodge in Monterey following our stay in Torrance and it was very nice.

Well the staff is friendly, but this place feels badly managed. The first room they sent us to was open, had a wet carpet and big dryers blowing air all over. I went back to the office and was quickly given a new room. This room had a king bed and desk but no other furniture just a big empty space where a chair/sofa should have been. The breakfast was make your own waffles only - nothing else, no fruit, no bread, nada. We stayed two nights and did not get maid service or clean towels for the second night. Still the hotel was comfortable, convenient and reasonably priced for the area.

a safe place to stay

The room was clean and adequate. It was unusual to not have an iron in the room and a chair (not a common desk chair) would have been nice.

Walking distance to Torrance Arts Cultural Center.

The first thing you see upon entering the property is a big laundry room in disarray. The elevator floor was held down with electrical tape. The shower was a very fine mist that took forever to rinse off. There were huge piles of discarded remodeling debris in the parking lot. The debris was old carpet and piles of glass doors. We won’t stay here again.

Room 102 with a full bed is horrible, I’ve started at the hotel several times with the king size beds and even queen, but the rooms with full size beds are horrible, very small old furniture by the street, very loud, bottom floor, horrible water pressure, I have nothing good to say about my stay.
