Carmel Inn And Suites

Just a few blocks away (walking distance) from the Carmel business/tourist area. We loved the vintage decore of the room we stayed in. Bathroom completely remodeled and nice. Room was made up daily, including fresh towels, soap and shampoo. Bed was very comfortable. No air conditioning but we were fine by opening windows and using ceiling fan. Overall, a very nice stay.

The location is nice but go get somewhere else to stay, It is not worth booking

The location is great if you want an easy walk downtown Carmel. It’s about .7 to the beach. Parking is tight but good for Carmel. The rooms are a little run down & the pool is empty. You are paying for the location.

Upon arrival late evening, I was getting ready to go to sleep, so I checked the bedding and, to my disappointment, the sheets were used. I complained to the front desk, and they gave me fresh sheets set. I asked if the staff could change the bedding, they said the cleaning crew wasn't there. When I tried to put them on myself, I found the bedding was smaller size, so I had to use their bath towels to lay on the mattress (the front desk was already closed at that time, so I couldn't exchange the bedding set.) The mattress and pillows were uncomfortable, so I woke up about 5 times that night. I checked out first thing in the morning (instead of staying there for 2 nights) and found another hotel in the central area.

Excellent location and the staff were lovely

The room was not clean, and I was uncomfortable enough with the condition of the property that I checked out after the first night, even though I had booked and paid for two nights. What made the situation worse was the complete lack of responsiveness from management. I emailed the manager directly and received no reply. I then escalated the issue through Expedia, and, as I understand it, the manager did not respond to Expedia either. Problems can happen at any hotel, but I expect management to at least acknowledge a guest's concerns and try to address them. That did not happen here. I left after one night and chose not to stay for the second night. Based on the cleanliness issues and the lack of response from management, I would avoid this property.

Hard spring mattress, box spring below rocked back and forth, was high centered. Hard to get a good nights rest. I am a very easy sleeper and this made it rough. Bathroom nicely updated. I give the bathroom five stars room was decorated nice. My only complaint was the bed.

Cleaning staff was super nice. Front desk was very helpful.

One bigger complaint is the parking lot. All of the parking spaces were for compact cars. There were many suv's and it was very difficult to get in the car or feel comfortable that I would wake up to have a new door ding. Fortunately for us, we got up early and didn't have to deal with that since the cars next to us didn't move.

Parking is horrible! Staff never answered the phone. Bed is very uncomfortable, like sleeping on a brick. Air conditioner and heating never worked. The only good thing, close to amenities.

Walking distance to town but limited tight parking

This is not a four star property. Barely a 3 star property. The physical plant is coroding. No air-con so you have to open the window onto the street for air. Old fit out. If this is the best you can get for $275 in Carmel, then ……..

Horrible experience....so out dated...christmas sheets on the bed...really!
