TownePlace Suites by Marriott - Des Moines Urbandale

Need more waste baskets in room & hooks in bathroom (no way to hang towels). Also, mattress was very soft & AC nest to bed was uncomfortable.

We have stayed at this hotel for several years. While there was an upgrade to many features, some were not for the best. The elevators were dirty (noticed when someone had sprayed a soda all over the walls...not cleaned once while we were there). Also, they changed the great business center with two desktop computers and a printer. They removed that for a wireless printer that did not work without the instructions as promised to be found or produced. Had to email staff at the front desk to print items and then go retrieve them. Breakfast has also been cheapened as it use to be really great. Overall, this is a great little hotel...but there is always room for improvement.

Staff always courteous! Rooms clean, ample parking and pool for kids and grandkids

I travel a lot... And this is by far one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in. The room was like a studio apartment even had a dishwasher!! Best part was the price. I highly recommend staying there if you are in the Des Moines area.

Great service

Room was filthy, crumbs and hair on the floor, black dirt on all the doors, cabinets falling apart, dishwasher wouldn't close, refrigerator was dirty, empty soap and shampoo in the shower, dirty shower, no coffee maker in the room (front desk got us one promptly). Even the hallways needed vacuuming. One plus was clean and comfortable bedding and towels. Also, we liked the layout of the room. Would NOT stay there again. Very disappointing for a Marriott property.

This stay worked for what we needed it for. Close to baseball fields, Texas Roadhouse in the parking lot and decent priced. Not as up to date as the normal Townplace hotels we generally stay in. Fridge in our room wasn’t cold, ice machine not working on our floor or a few others, laundry on site but only one working dryer so not convenient when there were two others that could have been available! I will say pretty quiet for all of the sports teams staying so that was a big advantage and did not have kids up and down the halls. Easy location. Fairly clean. Nice pool but wish the hot tub was working.

The bathroom was dirty upon arrival and the hotel was rather run down and did not look like the pictures. Staff was very friendly and kind but the hotel itself felt dirty. The bed was not comfortable.

It wasn't to clean and they say they clean the rooms every couple of days ours never got cleaned. We had to go get clean towels and toilet paper. This wad the worst Townplace suites I've ever stayed in.

Our air conditioner leaked and half the floor was soaking wet from the middle of the room past second bed to the window blood on sheets room was dirty hall was dirty no towels in pool area hot tub was broken breakfast was supposed to go till 10 but they ran out of food by 9 just terrible over all

Room was clean, staff was very personable, breakfast options were limited, no meat options for people who don't eat pork.

The staff was friendly and I had an easy check-in. Had an issue in my room, I call the front desk and they had me change rooms. The 2 bedroom suite is great.

No water pressure in the bathroom sink. Light bulbs burnt out and not replaced. Stove fan not working. Otherwise a comfortable spacious room. The breakfast is fantastic.

We spent a night here with 2 adults and 3 children-we had a suite which consisted of a small kitchenette and living room as well as 2 bedrooms. The space was fantastic and we loved the layout of the suite! The hotel was in a nice location and was a great stay. We did feel things could have been a little cleaner and we were bummed out to see the hot tub closed as well as finding weird bits of stuff floating in the pool. Outside of some minor touch ups with cleaning, we enjoyed this stay!!!

I was less enthused about the small bathroom vanity separated from the bath/toilet area. That's just my personal preference.
