Fairmont Breakers Long Beach

Cleanliness was 4.5/5. Not many extra little touches in the room which one would generally expect in a luxury hotel. The shopping in the area is very limited. South Coast Plaza is about 35mins away. Disneyland about the same distance. The pool was nice but no one was there to service the towels etc. The roof top bar was cool! The Queen Mary ship is worth a visit.

Hotel was really clean. Sits close to the beach and restaurants. They even offer car transportation to nearby places.

Before arriving, my team called to verify our reservations. Yet when we checked in, we were told that some of the reservations had been cancelled. The staff repeatedly emphasized that we had booked through Expedia, as though booking through a third party somehow made the situation less deserving of their help. With my team standing there needing accommodations, I ultimately had little choice but to pay for another room. The situation became even more frustrating when we subsequently asked about a refund. We were then told that their records showed us having four rooms for the entire stay—the exact opposite of what we had been told when we arrived and were required to purchase an additional room. But the most disappointing experience came after a long day working the tradeshow. One of my staff members returned to the hotel and was denied access to her room. At this point, I had already paid for yet another room for her, and our group was occupying multiple prepaid rooms at the hotel. Nevertheless, the front desk would not allow her into the room until I personally came downstairs and presented a credit card for incidentals. I explained that I had just returned from the tradeshow and asked whether she could simply be allowed into the prepaid room while I showered and came downstairs immediately afterward

Nice visit, especially because it’s there 100th anniversary with a tour of the hotel with champagne at the end! Would stay there again!

Breakfast in Nettuno was very good and we appreciated the $15.00 credit per day. Luis the waiter was excellent. Refurbished lobby is well done. Very stylish. Staff at reception were very helpful. Room on 9th floor was comfortable and quiet. Overnight parking is way too expensive at $59.00 per night for valet (tip not included). We parked elsewhere. We were not aware the Halo Room was unavailable to regular guests on 9/24 until we exited the elevator on 14th floor. Prior advice of the private function to guests would have been nice so we could have visited on 9/23. Bar and wait staff in Sky Room were busy but the attitude ranged from efficient to cranky. Lengthy wait time for a drink order meant we didn't order a second round. Dress code in the Sky Room is totally ignored by many guests. It is mentioned in the literature we were given by the hotel, yet 10-20% of the guests were breaching the code. We went to the trouble of dressing up and were unimpressed during our time up there. Guest brought a small dog to the Nettuno cafe while we were eating breakfast. It was not a service dog. The guest sat with it at the table next to it. I was less than impressed. Dogs don't belong in dining establishments.

Stunning hotel, close to the pier area. However mentions shades did not work and I got FULL sun at 5am. I basically booked cause I wanted a luxurious rest close to home but instead I didn’t sleep a wink and it was too late (5am) by the time I found out. So I left more tired then when I got there. Would stay again, if I wasn’t so tired I would have tried the gorgeous pool or restaurant

My issues are with the in room amenities which were lacking, the outside noise at night from the street below and my biggest complaint is that I twice ordered basic room amenities (an extra toothbrush and an iron and ironing board) to be brought up from the concierge and they either never delivered them or it took close to 45 minutes and 2 calls down before it arrived. Thats unacceptable for a hotel of this purported stature. Having just come from a trip to Japan with stays at all 5 star hotels, this pails in comparison in terms of customer service and amenities. So temper your expectations.

From the moment I booked to the room to requesting help with getting a reservation to the Sky Room everything was wonderful! Love Love Love the Breakers No complaints
