Courtyard by Marriott Shreveport-Bossier/Louisiana Boardwalk

We stayed for one night on our way to New Orleans. We thought it was a good location next to the Boardwalk. We didn't know the boardwalk was dead. Not the hotel's fault. What was the hotel's fault was the musty/moldy smell in the room. It looked clean but something was moldy. The place only smelled in the room and when we told the staff on checkout they did not seem surprised. Additionally, we had a guy in the room next to us that decided to hold his own concert in his room late at night. When we call the front desk the gentlemen on the phone politely took our report and then went home without doing anything...The next time we called later they did take care of it and the noise settled down. The last issue was no complimentary breakfast. It feels b*tchy complaining about this but you get good breakfasts from hotels for half the price of this one. Not a terrible place to stay but with the dead mall next to it they need to work on hotel atmosphere and amenities or the hotel is going to match it.

This hotel has been great in the past however there have been recent changes that other visitors may not be aware of like the large parking lot area that once was in front of the building and was free is now valet parking and as big as the hotel is the free parking is on the side and back of the building causing customers to walk a good distance which in the day may not be so bad but at night was not the best decision. We checked at 3 pm. and the coffee shop area was empty and we checked out at 9:30 a.m. and the coffee shop appeared closed. The first time our family came to Bossire City for our family reunion this hotel was amazing and location fantastic. Please think about your customers

Very convenient location. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean. The grounds were well maintained. We definitely will be staying there again.

Staff not very friendly. The breakfast area closed at 9 AM although the website states that it closed at 10. Hotel needs updating( floors needs to be redone & electrical outlets in the rooms need to be updated.

The staff was very unfriendly, the valet parking is a joke, charged $17.99 a night and not once did they park our vehicle nor did they retrieve it for us, so we basically paid to park in the hotel parking lot that used to be free for guest we have stayed at this property many times over the last 4 to 5 years and always enjoyed our stay the personnel were always very friendly and hospitable but that is not the case now, not sure why they are making so many unnecessary changes but we will not be returning.

Nice property, very clean, the entrance to the parking lot is not easy access.
