Laguna Cove Hotel

This hotel is basically a motel. The view was a construction site as well as ocean. The staff are lovely and there are snacks in the lobby.

The room had a pretty bad ant problem in the bathroom, especially along the shower area. This was quite annoying as sometimes they’d crawl on you or you’d find a random one in the bed. Secondly, the room entrance has a sizable gap between the bottom of the door and floor allowing more bugs entrance. The sheets, towels and surfaces were very clean. At the time of my stay (end of September ‘26) there is some building construction going on behind the property. This prevented me from leaving the curtains open for more natural light. I wasn’t bothered by the noise as I was out and about. Overall this is a good property and the staff is friendly.

The trip was so much fun! We got an ocean view and I couldn’t be more happy with the turn out! We were able to rent boogie boards( along with lots of other things ) from the hotel which was so awesome! We will definitely be back! :)

The room was very underwhelming. The space was limited and the furniture was outdated. The shower did not have any hot water as well. I was also not impressed with the $35 early check-in fee to arrive two hours early with only half the rooms occupied. For the price point and location there are many better options in the area.

Location Couch was hard, bed felt like you were in a hole. A/c unit was loud and cycled constantly.

Easy location on PCH for a one night stay Lacks the finesse or sophistication to make it a Laguna Beach stay for more than one night unless you are on a budget. Staff could be more customer friendly and less business driven... more personable staff would help make the interaction more pleasant!

The beds were comfy. Price was not commensurate with the lack of amenities. There is literally nothing to do on the property itself. No pool, no jacuzzi, nothing. Location was a bit far from downtown. Too far to walk. No dressers to put clothes. No storage of any kind. Be prepated to live out of your suitcase.

We upgraded to the upper level for ocean views. Not worth it. The property between the hotel and the beach is under construction. The view is a partial view...no waves. Construction noise started before 7am during the week.

Passable

The staff were awesome and very helpful. The room was nice but, very small. The noise from outside could be heard at all hours. It is a cute property, but I feel it needs quite a bit of updating. With other comparable properties, I’m not sure we would stay there again. However, we were there for the views, the beach, and the dining, so the room was not a deal breaker.

Location is great and the staff was wonderful, but the rooms are hugely overpriced. They are small, poorly furnished and showing little of the amenities expected at their considerable price point. I’d try somewhere else.

Nice grounds, friendly staff, good location Our sleep was disrupted continuously as the severely corroded ac unit cycled on and off throughout the night. Photo of the decomposed unit shows a breeding ground for mold, mildew, and bacteria, factors directly compromising indoor air quality, posing serious respiratory risks, especially for children, older adults, or guests with asthma and allergies. We strongly encouraged hotel management to consider a deeper remediation or full replacement of that specific first floor unit to ensure future guests are not exposed to hidden health hazards. Cleaning the filter after our stay was their response and described the unit as natural wear and tear!
