The location was good. The breakfast was good. Coffee and tea was accessible in the lobby, along with fresh baked cookies. Dave, who took care of things at breakfast, was very informative about the area and did his job well. The whole hotel was outdated. Smelled like wet dog as we stepped out of the elevator. Our room was supposed to be king, but it was queen. They tried charging us $16 per person for the breakfast, until I mentioned it was advertised as free. The cleaning person never cleaned our hot tub after we used it, I had to!!! Not my favorite hotel at all.

I knew that this was an older hotel but still chose it for the location and hoped for charm. We were pleasantly surprised! We got a corner room with lots of windows, nice comfy bed with white, washable linens which is my favorite (no bedspread). Room was large with a comfortable chair and ottoman. Bathroom was especially large. The building is dated, but we found it clean and well-maintained. We could see the mist from the falls and the nightly fireworks easily from our room, but we also enjoyed the top floor lounge. We and other guests brought drinks and snacks and enjoyed the views from up there. We didn’t use the breakfast restaurant or the bar, but I liked that they were available. Parking was a bonus- right across the street in a gated lot with easy in & out privileges. I’d certainly recommend this hotel, especially for people who plan to walk to the US side state park and/or across the Rainbow Bridge to the Canadian side. Both are very close!

This hotel was so awesome. Architecture was beautiful , room was great, walkable , bar, lounge and breakfast for a small price. Gated parking, which was a plus to us

This is a historic hotel located a short walk to the falls. It has interesting architectural features. The 24 hour coffee bar and warm baked cookies and brownies were a nice treat. The staff went above a beyond to make our stay memorable. Shout out to Lenny the manager and his entire cheerful staff. The included breakfast offered many hot and cold choices.

Great location, we are walking everywhere, Friendly staff, breakfast is available if needed, we have not tried it yet

On our arrival we were assigned a room that was not exactly what we booked, but the staff gave us a free upgrade and were very accommodating. We would come back and stay here. Highlight is the view of the falls from the hotel and the room!

Exceptional

We had a wonderful check-in experience after driving a long distance. My only negative was that our room was right above the dumpster, but we didn’t realize it until 4:30 am early Tuesday morning when the dumpster was emptied.

Passable

The staff was friendly and the breakfast options plenty and tasty, although breakfast was not included. The hotel was clean and the room/bathroom was a nice size. There is an observation deck on the 19th floor of the hotel. Parking was assigned and behind a locked gate, although we felt completely safe walking around late at night. The Giacomo was only a 10-minute walk to the American Falls and to many dining options. We recommend visiting the falls at night, as well as during the day. At certain times of the year there are fireworks at 10 p.m. at the falls. Also, you can get a grrat view of the Canadian Falls walking straight across the bridge and then all the way to the left on the without paying for the American Observation deck/ Maid of the Mist boat ride. The Giacomo Hotel is perfectly situated for a relaxing and breath-taking stay.

Great stay. Best Bar

The hotel is dog-friendly, which was a huge plus for us, and the breakfast had a great selection with plenty of options. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and we really appreciated having secure parking available. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely stay at the Giacomo again when visiting Niagara Falls!

The location to the Falls was ideal and the parking across the street was included in the room rate. Frankly the property was a bit dated. We received a handicap room even though I didn’t request one and we are not handicapped. The room (205) seemed to be a “lemon.” The entry door was warped and you really had to slam it to close it. There was a constant hum from the ac/heat vent attached to the ceiling. The thermostat was prickly and took time to adjust. The handicap shower was missing a handicap bar that was taken out but never put back in. The room itself looked like it had gone through a lot of wear and tear and was in need of some TLC. I am sure the other rooms may have not been as bad.

The staff went out of their way to assist us. It’s an old school hotel and we loved it.
