Hotel is iconic great location and friendly staff and rooms super clean loved it!

I have stayed here a few times over the years. It's so charming and authentic European feeling with the decor and the building. The planters along the balconies and the entrance were SO BEAUTIFUL. Breakfast was included and nice...European style. I was able to get into the room early because it was ready...that made the day much more pleasant. Definitely will be back again.

The hotel was in a great location and had very unique and personal rooms

Quaint, historic hotel in heart of vail. Parking rate will make me reevaluate in the future.

Would not hesitate to stay here again.

Housekeeping was very friendly and accommodating. Front desk was as helpful as one person working alone could be. There is no bell-hop to assist with luggage. Continental breakfast was good with adequate choices and great coffee. One had to walk through the empty dining room where one would be greeted by the overwhelming smell of floor cleaner in order to get to the breakfast room. Breakfast attendant stood at attention and did not smile, greet or engage with visitors at all. The hotel was very expensive for what it offered. There is no designated hotel parking. All parking in Vail is public parking quite a distance away and is $14 a night.

The hair dryer shorted out! Felt a bit long in the tooth but charming!
-
The hotel lobby and hallway smells musty, and the continental breakfast was terrible.
-
Wonderful Austrian hotel with real German/Austrian food and live music bar
-
Friendly staff, helpful with questions. Property was clean, location was great. Restaurant and bar were good. Continental breakfast had a variety of foods, just enough to get you started in the morning. Would definitely stayagain.

I live in Summit County and am frequently enjoying everything Vail has to offer, however, rarely spend the night. The Gramshammer has been in my memory since childhood yet have never slept there. It was awesome! So amazingly located... yet I hate saying that because the Old School charm will surely be lost with those that would not appriciate Vail in the '80's! Loved my stay!! Felt like home. Absolutely will recommend any of us mountain folk looking for home to stay here! Thank you! And the late night bear encounter just reminds us of our place in the circle. Perfect. nada

Breakfast is very good-European style continental. Comfortable room. Great location. Wish we had a refrigerator. Lack of air conditioning does not match our warmer climate change summers.

Great stay and location. Our room was larger than it appeared in the online photos,so that was a nice surprise.

Great location, clean room with comfortable beds. The only things I would like to see improved would be air conditioning as it can get really hot in the room without air conditioning even if you use the fans and try to open up the balcony door early to cool the room down. The only other thing is I e. No ice machines in the hotel, you are told to go to the adjoining restaurant for I e and they seem a little put out to fulfill your request. Otherwise lovely stay.
