Frequently asked questions

How do I book a block of rooms for out-of-town wedding guests in Tempe?
If you need nine or more guest rooms, Engine Groups will handle the room-block booking for you. For eight rooms or fewer, you can search, compare, and book directly on Engine. Either way, you'll have access to pre-negotiated rates, consolidated invoicing, and multiple payment options with no membership fee.
What amenities can wedding guests expect at these hotels?
Most properties offer parking, WiFi, and on-site dining, and some provide shuttle service to nearby areas like Arizona State University or the airport serving Tempe. Specific amenities vary by hotel, so it's worth comparing what matters most to your guests. You can view full property details on Engine when you search.
Can Engine help with both guest rooms and booking the reception space?
Yes. For guest rooms, Engine Groups handles blocks of nine or more rooms, and smaller blocks are self-serve. The hotel's event and reception space can be searched and booked through Engine Spaces, Engine's free marketplace of hotel meeting and event spaces across the U.S. and Canada, or you can arrange it directly with the property.
What makes a hotel a good fit for hosting a wedding?
Look for properties with dedicated reception and banquet space, enough guest rooms to accommodate out-of-town guests, and facilities like getting-ready suites. The Marriott Phoenix Resort Tempe at The Buttes, for example, offers about 9,000 square feet in its largest ballroom and 30 event spaces across 353 guest rooms. On-site catering and coordination vary by property, so confirm those details when you book.
What should I compare when choosing where to put wedding guests?
Compare guest-room availability, proximity to your ceremony or reception venue, and on-site amenities like parking and dining. Also check the hotel's event space if you're hosting your reception there. Engine lets you search and compare these details side by side, so you can find the best fit for your big day and your guests.
Why don't you show rates for these hotels?
Hotels give Engine rates they only allow us to show business travelers, so a public page cannot list them. Create a free account with your work email to see them.
Is Engine free?
Yes. An Engine account is 100% free and without commitment, and you can leave anytime. Sign up with your work email.
