Frequently asked questions

Where in South Carolina are most wedding-ready hotels located?

Myrtle Beach has the highest concentration of hotels with substantial wedding and event space. All three properties on this list are located there, ranging from oceanfront resorts with grand ballrooms to those with outdoor lawn spaces. Other cities across the state also offer wedding venues, but Myrtle Beach stands out for the variety and scale of its hotel event facilities.

What should I look for in a hotel for my wedding?

Look for reception and banquet space that fits your guest count, along with enough guest rooms to accommodate out-of-town attendees. Hotels with multiple event spaces give you flexibility for your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Amenities like catering, on-site coordination, and getting-ready suites vary by property, so confirm those details when you visit or reach out.

Can Engine help with both the guest rooms and the reception space?

Yes. For a block of 9 or more guest rooms, Engine Groups handles the booking. The hotel's meeting and event space for your reception can be searched, compared, and booked through Engine Spaces, Engine's free marketplace of hotel event spaces across the U.S. and Canada, or you can arrange it with the hotel directly. Engine offers consolidated invoicing, pre-negotiated rates, and no membership fee.

How far in advance should I book a hotel room block for my wedding?

Most couples reserve their room block nine to twelve months before the wedding, especially for popular dates or destinations like Myrtle Beach. Booking early gives your guests the best rates and ensures availability. If your wedding is during peak season or a holiday weekend, consider reaching out even earlier.

How do I book guest rooms for out-of-town wedding guests?

If you need 9 or more rooms, Engine Groups will handle the room-block booking for you. For 8 rooms or fewer, you can book self-serve on Engine. Either way, you'll have access to pre-negotiated rates, consolidated invoicing, and multiple payment options to make the process easier for you and your guests.

Why don't you show rates for these hotels?

Hotels give Engine rates they only allow us to show business travelers, so a public page cannot list them. Create a free account with your work email to see them.

Is Engine free?

Yes. An Engine account is 100% free and without commitment, and you can leave anytime. Sign up with your work email.
