Frequently asked questions

Which parts of Connecticut have the most options for wedding hotels?

The coastal region and Fairfield County offer a strong selection of properties with substantial event space. Mystic Marriott Hotel and Spa in Mystic features about 10,000 square feet in its Marriott Ballroom and 28 event spaces, while Old Greenwich and Stamford each host hotels with ballrooms seating hundreds and dozens of configurable rooms. Couples planning a wedding near the shore or in southwestern Connecticut will find ample inventory to compare on Engine.

How do I reserve a block of rooms for out-of-town guests attending my wedding?

If you need nine or more rooms, Engine Groups handles the booking for you. For eight rooms or fewer, you can search and book the block yourself through Engine's platform. Both options give you access to pre-negotiated rates, consolidated invoicing, and no membership fee.

What should wedding guests expect at these hotels?

Most properties offer parking, wifi, on-site dining, and fitness facilities, though specifics vary by hotel. Many also provide shuttle service to nearby airports or train stations, which can be helpful for guests traveling from out of state. Check each hotel's profile on Engine to confirm the amenities that matter most to your group.

What should I compare when choosing where to put my wedding guests across different Connecticut cities?

Consider proximity to your ceremony and reception venue, ease of airport or highway access, and the number of guest rooms available for your block. If your reception will be at the hotel itself, compare ballroom capacity and the total number of event spaces. Rates, parking options, and whether the property offers a complimentary shuttle are also worth weighing as you narrow your list.

Can Engine help with both guest rooms and booking the reception space at the hotel?

Engine Groups covers your guest-room block when you need nine or more rooms. The hotel's event and reception space can be searched and booked through Engine Spaces, Engine's free marketplace of hotel meeting and event spaces across the U.S. and Canada, or you can arrange it with the hotel directly. Catering, AV, and other wedding services are coordinated with the hotel or your own vendors.
