Frequently asked questions

What makes a hotel in West Virginia a good choice for a wedding?

Look for properties with dedicated reception and banquet space, enough guest rooms for out-of-town guests, and facilities like getting-ready suites. The hotels on this list offer a range of ballroom sizes and event spaces, from The Greenbrier's Colonial Terrace at about 13,000 square feet to the Morgantown Marriott's Platinum Ballroom at about 7,100 square feet. On-site guest rooms mean your guests can celebrate and rest under one roof, and many properties offer amenities like catering and coordination, though those vary by hotel.

How do I book a block of rooms for wedding guests?

If you need 9 or more guest rooms, Engine Groups handles the room-block booking for you. For 8 rooms or fewer, you can book them yourself through Engine's platform. Either way, you'll get consolidated invoicing, pre-negotiated rates, and multiple payment options with no membership fee.

Which parts of West Virginia have the most wedding hotels?

Charleston, Morgantown, and White Sulphur Springs each have properties with significant event space and guest-room capacity. The Embassy Suites Charleston offers 26 event spaces and a Grand Ballroom seating up to 1,200 people, while The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs features 63 event spaces and 660 guest rooms. Morgantown Marriott at Waterfront Place provides 28 event spaces, giving couples options across the state.

How far ahead should I reserve hotel rooms for my wedding?

Start looking at least six to nine months before your big day, especially if you're planning a weekend wedding in peak season. Popular properties with large event spaces can book up quickly, and securing your room block early gives out-of-town guests time to make travel plans. If you're flexible on dates or hosting a smaller celebration, a few months' notice may be enough.

What amenities can wedding guests expect at these hotels?

Most properties offer free wifi, on-site parking, and complimentary breakfast or on-site dining options, though specifics vary by hotel. Shuttles to the ceremony or reception venue, fitness centers, and business services are commonly available. Check each property's listing on Engine to compare what's included and what might carry an extra fee.

Why don't you show rates for these hotels?

Hotels give Engine rates they only allow us to show business travelers, so a public page cannot list them. Create a free account with your work email to see them.

Is Engine free?

Yes. An Engine account is 100% free and without commitment, and you can leave anytime. Sign up with your work email.
