Frequently asked questions
What makes a hotel in Columbus a good fit for a large meeting or corporate event?
Look for properties with ample meeting space, enough guest rooms to house your attendees, and on-site facilities that simplify logistics. The Hilton Columbus Downtown offers about 75,000 square feet of event space and 40 meeting rooms, while the Hilton Columbus at Easton has about 40,000 square feet. Hotels with ballrooms, breakout rooms, and catering options (which vary by property) make it easier to keep everything under one roof.
Should I book near the airport for a conference in Columbus?
It depends on your agenda and where most attendees are flying in from. John Glenn Columbus International Airport serves the city and is close to several properties with meeting space, which can cut down on ground transport time. If your conference is downtown or near Easton, staying in those neighborhoods may be more convenient, and the airport is still a short drive away.
How far in advance should I reserve rooms for a corporate event?
For a large meeting, start looking three to six months out to secure a room block and lock in rates. If your event falls during a busy season or coincides with other conferences, earlier is better. Booking ahead also gives you more options for meeting space and helps your team plan travel without last-minute stress.
How does billing work when I book a multi-room block for a conference?
Engine offers consolidated invoicing, so you can manage all your rooms on a single statement instead of juggling individual receipts. You'll have multiple payment options and there's no membership fee. This setup makes reconciliation straightforward and keeps your finance team happy.
Can Engine help with both the guest rooms and the meeting space for my event?
Yes. For the guest-room block, if you need 9 or more rooms, Engine Groups handles the booking; 8 or fewer and you book self-serve. For the meeting or event space itself, you can find and request a venue through Engine Spaces, which connects you to thousands of meeting and event venues. That way you can source both parts of your conference through Engine.
Why don't you show rates for these hotels?
Hotels give Engine rates they only allow us to show business travelers, so a public page cannot list them. Create a free account with your work email to see them.
