Frequently asked questions
What makes a hotel in Columbus a good fit for a team offsite or company retreat?
A hotel that works well for an offsite offers enough meeting and breakout space for your agenda, plus guest rooms to house the team. For example, Hilton Columbus Downtown has about 75,000 square feet of event space and 40 meeting rooms, Renaissance Columbus Downtown Hotel offers about 21,000 square feet and 16 meeting rooms, and Hilton Columbus at Easton provides about 40,000 square feet. On-site facilities like dining and fitness vary by property, so confirm what's available when you book.
How do I get my team to Columbus for the offsite?
Most teams fly into John Glenn Columbus International Airport, the airport serving Columbus, which is about 10 miles east of downtown. Ground transportation (shuttles, rideshare, or rental cars) connects the airport to hotels across the city. If you prefer to stay close to the airport, confirm proximity and shuttle availability with the property when you book.
How does billing work when I book multiple rooms for a company retreat?
Engine offers consolidated invoicing so you can see all room charges in one place, and you can choose from multiple payment options. There's no membership fee to use the platform. For a stay of 9 or more guest rooms, Engine Groups handles the room-block booking; for 8 or fewer, you book self-serve.
How far in advance should I book team offsite hotels in Columbus?
Booking 8 to 12 weeks out gives you better availability for both guest rooms and meeting space, especially if your group is larger or your dates fall during a busy season. If your offsite is smaller or your schedule is flexible, shorter lead times can work. Confirm room-block and meeting-space availability as early as you can to lock in your preferred property.
What amenities can my team expect at these hotels?
Most properties on this list offer parking, wifi, on-site dining, and fitness facilities, though specifics vary by hotel. If your retreat requires particular amenities (like accessible parking, flexible dining hours, or wellness options), confirm those details with the property. You can also find and request meeting and event space for your offsite through Engine Spaces, Engine's venue product.
