Frequently asked questions

Which parts of Utah have the most options for wedding venues with hotel rooms?

Salt Lake City and Park City offer a number of hotels with dedicated event space and guest rooms. The Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City has 22 event spaces and 775 rooms, while Montage Deer Valley in Park City offers 28 event spaces and 220 rooms. Both cities give you flexibility for reception size and accommodations for out-of-town guests.

How does Engine help with booking rooms for wedding guests and reserving the reception space?

For a guest-room block of 9 or more rooms, Engine Groups handles the booking. For 8 rooms or fewer, you can book directly through Engine. The hotel's event and reception space can be booked through Engine Spaces, a free marketplace of hotel meeting and event spaces, or you can arrange it with the hotel directly.

How far ahead should I reserve a block of rooms for my wedding?

Many couples reserve their room block six to twelve months before the wedding date, especially for popular seasons or destinations like Park City. Booking early gives your guests more time to plan and helps ensure availability at the hotel hosting your reception.

What should I compare when choosing where to put guests across different cities?

Compare proximity to your ceremony and reception, the number of rooms available, and whether the hotel has its own event space if you want everything under one roof. Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City has 700 rooms and about 23,000 square feet of event space, while Montage Deer Valley has 220 rooms and a Grand Lawn that holds up to 2,000 people. Also consider travel time between cities and what your guests will want to do during their stay.

What makes a hotel work well for a wedding?

A hotel with ballroom or event space large enough for your guest count, on-site rooms so everyone can stay together, and space for getting ready all make the day easier. The Grand Ballroom at The Grand America Hotel seats up to 3,000 people, and the property has 775 guest rooms. Amenities like catering, coordination, and getting-ready suites vary by property, so confirm those details with the hotel.
