Frequently asked questions

What should I consider when comparing wedding hotels in Kentucky for my out-of-town guests?

Start with location: think about where most of your guests are traveling from and how close the hotel is to your ceremony and reception. Then compare room counts, pricing, and amenities like parking and breakfast. If your venue and guest rooms are at the same property, check the event space too, hotels like Galt House Hotel in Louisville offer about 23,000 square feet in their Grand Ballroom and 76 event spaces, while Louisville Marriott Downtown has about 19,000 square feet in the Marriott Ballroom and 50 event spaces.

What amenities can wedding guests expect at these hotels?

Most properties offer free wifi, on-site parking, and fitness centers, though specifics vary by hotel. Many also have restaurants or room service, which is helpful for guests arriving the night before or staying through the weekend. Some offer airport shuttles or are near Louisville's airport, making travel easier for out-of-town guests.

Can Engine help with both guest rooms and the reception space?

Yes, in two ways. For guest rooms, if you need a block of 9 or more, Engine Groups handles the booking; for 8 or fewer, you can book self-serve. The hotel's event and reception space can be searched and booked through Engine Spaces, Engine's free marketplace of meeting and event spaces, or arranged directly with the property.

How do I book a room block for wedding guests coming from out of town?

If you need 9 or more rooms, Engine Groups will handle the room block for you. For 8 rooms or fewer, you can book those guest rooms yourself through Engine. Both options give you access to pre-negotiated rates, consolidated invoicing, and no membership fee.

How far ahead should I reserve hotel rooms for my wedding?

For a spring or summer wedding, aim to book at least six to nine months in advance, especially if your date falls on a popular weekend. If you're planning a fall or winter celebration, three to six months is usually enough. Booking early gives your guests more time to plan and helps you lock in better rates.

Why don't you show rates for these hotels?

Hotels give Engine rates they only allow us to show business travelers, so a public page cannot list them. Create a free account with your work email to see them.

Is Engine free?

Yes. An Engine account is 100% free and without commitment, and you can leave anytime. Sign up with your work email.
