Frequently asked questions

What amenities do wedding hotels in North Carolina typically offer for guests?

Most of these hotels provide parking, wifi, and on-site dining, and many offer airport shuttles or easy access to local transit. Specific amenities vary by property, so it's worth confirming what each hotel includes when you book. Some hotels also have pools, fitness centers, and room service for out-of-town guests who arrive early or stay after the celebration.

How does billing work when I reserve a block of rooms for wedding guests?

Engine offers consolidated invoicing, so you can manage the room block under one account with multiple payment options and no membership fee. For a block of 9 or more rooms, Engine Groups handles the booking. For 8 or fewer rooms, you can book self-serve through the platform.

Can Engine help with both guest rooms and the reception space?

Yes. For guest rooms, Engine Groups coordinates blocks of 9 or more rooms, and smaller bookings are self-serve. The hotel's event and reception space can be searched and booked through Engine Spaces, Engine's free marketplace of hotel meeting and event spaces across the U.S. and Canada, or you can arrange it with the hotel directly. Catering, AV, and other wedding services are handled with the hotel or outside vendors.

What should I look for in a hotel for my wedding?

Focus on reception and banquet space that fits your guest count, enough rooms for out-of-town guests, and ideally some getting-ready space for the wedding party. The Omni Grove Park Inn & Spa in Asheville offers about 18,000 square feet in its Grand Ballroom and 24 event spaces, while The Westin Charlotte has about 16,000 square feet and 23 event spaces. On-site catering, coordination, and amenities vary by property.

How far in advance should I book a room block for my wedding?

For a wedding, it's smart to reserve your room block six to twelve months out, especially if your date falls during peak season or a popular weekend. Booking early gives your guests more options and locks in your preferred hotel. If you're planning a smaller celebration or off-season event, three to six months is often enough.

Why don't you show rates for these hotels?

Hotels give Engine rates they only allow us to show business travelers, so a public page cannot list them. Create a free account with your work email to see them.

Is Engine free?

Yes. An Engine account is 100% free and without commitment, and you can leave anytime. Sign up with your work email.
